Product Description

Platform: Xbox One | Edition: Be the Zombie Edition

Dying Light is a first-person, action survival horror game set in a vast and dangerous open world. During the day, players traverse an expansive urban environment overrun by a vicious outbreak, scavenging the world for supplies and crafting weapons to defend against the growing infected population. At night, the hunter becomes the hunted, as the infected become aggressive and more dangerous. Most frightening are the predators which only appear after sundown. Players must use everything in their power to survive until the morning’s first light.

KEY FEATURES

  • Survive the Night - During the day, players roam free and scavenge for supplies and weapons. But at night, the world undergoes a deadly transformation: the hunter becomes the hunted as the infected grow more aggressive and numerous, and something far more sinister awakens to stalk its prey.
  • Free Running Movement - Whether tracking prey or escaping predators, Dying Light lets players swiftly navigate the world by seamlessly leaping between buildings, grappling up walls and pouncing on unsuspecting enemies.
  • Open World Environments - Dying Light is set in a vast open world, delivering expansive and varied environments, a wide variety of enemy classes and a hopeless tale of survival where resources are scarce and the infected are not the only threat.
  • Brutal Melee and Ranged Combat - get up-close using a variety of light and heavy weapons including knives, bats, axes, sledgehammers and more exotic weaponry or utilize guns and other firepower to take down enemies from a distance.
  • Choose Your Play Style - Dying Light features four playable characters that can be fully customized and upgraded to match any play style.
  • Craft Your Weapon - Why use a wrench when you can use a wrench wrapped in electrified barbed wire? Dying Light's sizeable crafting system enables players to create a slew of new, more potent weapons and equipment, as well as specialized ammunition.
  • Breathtaking Visuals and Gameplay - Dying Light is the first game powered by Chrome Engine 6, a cutting edge incarnation of Techland's proprietary technology, designed from the ground up for the new console generation, DirectX 11 and other advanced solutions.

4.0 out of 5 stars Finally ... a game! 27 Feb. 2015
Platform for Display:Xbox One|Edition:Be the Zombie Edition
Simply put, this game is fun. Nowadays, many big budget games seem to feel more like interactive movies. The Order: 1886 is one clear example. This is perfectly fine, in it's own right. However, it's sometimes nice just to be able to stick a game in your console which you can have hours of aimless fun with. Dying light is one such game that is enjoyable and fun to play with a decent story line to keep you interested in the missions.
You probably won't become emotionally invested in the plot or many of the characters that you meet with. You probably won't even care very much about your own character in the game, but I have no doubt that upon your first headsmash, molotov inferno, explosive ninja star massacre, electrocution take down or poison gas combo kill, you will be glad you picked up this game. ( To get an idea of the story watch this video, and for some other dying light gameplay videos check out the channel (no spoilers) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0ZXW_vKyK4&spfreload=10 )
Pros :
Excellent graphics and a huge open world with countless zombies occupying it
Large skill set to upgrade through and many weapons to upgrade/modify
Lengthy game with a large number of side quests and challenges to complete
Co-op available to play through quests with a friend online
Parkour system works really well once you are used to the controls
Day and night cycles add a new dynamic, zombies behave completely differently depending on the time of day
Music and sound effects, especially the zombies, is excellent and adds to the emersion
Spawn points are great. The game will remember which enemies were killed before you died, preventing you from having to start a level again. Very useful during harder missions where there are many enemies involved.

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Dying Light is a game that wasn't on my radar until a few days before it released digitally last month. Zombie games are nothing new and with games such as Dead Rising and Dead Island trying their hand at the genre, why should you check out Dying Light? Does it offer anything new? Is it worth buying yet another zombie game? I think so but let me explain why.

-----
Story
-----

The story of Dying Light isn't particularly ground-breaking but it's also not the traditional zombie story you'd expect. A virus has spread across the fictious city of Harran turned the people there into flesh-eating maniacs and, as the world watches on in horror and curiousity, someone within the city steals important documents that could lead to a potential cure for the virus. Your character, Kyle Crane, is a spy for an interested party and you are sent into the city undercover to find and retrieve these documents. As you parachute into the city you see how the virus has ravaged the city and turned it into a desolate and barren place. No sooner have your feet touched the ground when you are ambushed and, in the resulting scuffle, are bitten and infected with the virus.

The game kicks off with you waking up in the "Tower" and becoming one of the runners there, volunteering to go out in the city and search for supplies and survivors all while you're actually trying to track down the person who stole these important documents. You meet various people throughout the story including the Tower Survivors and a bandit leader who is hoarding all of the medicine in traditional zombie-story-style. However, whilst the story isn't the standard run-of-the-mill affair, it's not fantastic either.

5.0 out of 5 stars game is suberbly fun and enjoyable to play 7 Mar. 2015

Very quick devilery (within 1-2 days), game is suberbly fun and enjoyable to play. The graphics are fantastic along with the realistic rag-doll likeness when hitting a zombie or drop kicking it off a roof. If you're thinking of owning this game, do not hesitate when buying it.

Very enjoyable, however it is basically dead island, graphics are very good and the free roam is always a great feature even after beating the game. Unfortunately there is one thing that really annoyed me, the same as dead island is that the survivors at the safe houses do not interact when zombies are close and zombies don't ever enter the safe houses even though I lured one to the front door, it just turned around and walked off? Overall very good worth a play
