Biography

From 1963 through to the mid-70’s, the Hollies had more hits than the Beatles. In that period alone, they had 17 Top ten hits, while “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother” gave them a second No 1 hit when re-released in 1988. “I’m Alive” had been their first chart topper back in 1965. At the heart of the band since 1963 are two original members, ... Read more in Amazon's Hollies Store

I have missed giving this five stars because the cd misses off some of the hits but you are buying this for the visual content(theDVD)and this is excellent.Over two hours of shear joy with performances from the uk and europe, the earlier stuff is in black and white and as we progress towards the 70,s we get colour. The picture quality is superb but on a couple of tracks the audio suffers a bit but this is a small price for the brilliant perfomances on show.Alan Clarke looks remarkably like Roy Wood circa 1971 and his hair style changes in nearly every song adding to this visual treat.Well done BR MUSIC for another superb release and please lets have more of the same.

As previous reviewers have stated you will be buying this Dutch Collection for the DVD as there are many Greatest Hits/Best Of Collection CD's by the Hollies around.

The DVD has 26 tracks plus a further 4 on the extras. Many of the tracks are live as well as video clips and they are in chronological order. The DVD is the best sounding compilation of tracks from the 60's and 70's that I have heard. The sound is also uniform on all tracks. Many of the videos I have never seen before despite having several DVD's of Hollies music.
I am looking forward to seeing the current line up in Melbourne next month.

Highly recommended for Hollies fans and lovers of British 60's music.

This set is fantastic value for money and a must have for Hollies fans - new and old! Excellent service - my order was received within a few days. Quality of both CD and DVD is superb. The DVD is especially good because it contains later songs by a group which seemed to have matured whilst retaining original beautiful harmonies - since the addition of Terry Sylvester whose voice blended so well - harmonious but never harsh. In particular the diversity of the Hollies is a joy - their choice of material was not always appreciated at the time, which is a great shame. They are a credit to British music history. The DVD is unique in that it contains videos of two of my particular favourites which I have never seen anywhere else, except on YouTube: I'm Down and Magic Woman Touch. Whilst there are new members in the current line up, Tony and Bobby and the formidable driving force which keeps the group alive - keep going lads!

hard to narrow the vast catalogue of the hollies down to a couple of dozen tracks. the groups group, who played and sang so great. they had the perfect line up, great musos on guitar, bass, and drums,. a shame more live recordings unsaved, but i hope more appear soon. i play this in the car a lot, my good friend eric j haydock on bass. magic !
