Ten Bears says:
With a RRP of 12.99, I expected something more by way of a dustjacket than a 60mm strip of paper stuck to the paste-downs with adhesive tape.
What on earth were the publisher's thinking of when they designed this?

Sylvia Tench says:
What are you talking about? The book is beautifully produced - gold cover with gilt pages. It looks like a gold brick. A dust jacket would spoil it. The strip of paper is there purely to carry the bar code. Chuck it away and appreciate the full minimalist glory of the book.

I'm glad that the plot also reflects the minimalist glory of the book. Perhaps if it had been written on the 60mm strip then the publishers could have considered even more beautiful packaging.

I do agree....

Not so much that a dustcover was necessary, but the fact that the gold cover becomes damaged very easily.

Whilst it looks amazing, the scratches to cover spoil it- im rather a freak about keeping books in a healthy state [curse the spine creases].

Put the gold gilted pages were also truly amazing :D

And yes, the book is out, and has been since last month
