Review

This is a glorious collection of ghost stories... Mould has a flawless gift for blending the new and the old into a single narrative voice. ... magnificent illustrations in full colour.... (School Librarian)

Are you feeling brave? This is not just one screamingly scary story but 10 totally terrifying tales. Each story is a few pages long - perfect for getting REALLY frightened before bedtime or ideal for reading at a Halloween party and becoming perfectly petrified.

There's the story of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (which will curl your toes up) or By The Fireside (which will make your hair stand on end) or A Bedtime Tale (which will make you shiver in your slippers). There's a good mix of old ghostly stories re-told and brand new spooky tales.

These aren't tales for the faint-hearted. But they are brilliantly written and illustrated with cool and colourful drawings.

(CBBC Newsround)

ON THE BOX SET: Just right for mischievous kids to enjoy and play pranks on their parents and relatives old and young with a 'real' spider, some spider stickers and a skeleton coming as part of the package!! The book itself has some classic and contemporary ghost stories, each of them good enough to stand-alone. Dust 'n Bones provides a wonderful introduction - each of the stories are no more than about 10 pages in length - to the immensely popular category of ghost stories. Don't forget kids are braver than adults so will handle the fear much better! (LoveReading4kids.co.uk)

Exceptionally high production values, an astounding level of attention to detail and a beautiful lovingly packaged gift box including ghastly stickers and a gruesome skeleton to hang, make this a spook-tacularly special gift set to give to ghouls and boys aike...

... marvellous anthology by the master of the macabre. A perfect book to read during long, cold, dark evenings

(Achuka)

The vivid writing style with its formal tone and patterned language

makes this a satisfying collection and a pleasure to read aloud.

(Books for Keeps)

a real page-turner... brilliantly illustrated. This fantastic book will send shivers down your spine. (Families Magazine)

5.0 out of 5 stars Scary but fun! 20 Jun 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This book contains 10 stories exceptionally well illustrated by the author. The drawings are so good naturedly funny that they add great fun to the creepy stories. It should appeal to all readers who enjoy a chuckle along with a tingle down the spine!
