Product Description

Rob Thompson is a gifted singer/songwriter and guitarist from Swansea, South Wales. Rob first found international success as a founder member of the critically acclaimed band The Storys whose debut album in 2003 he co wrote and produced. Sir Elton John impressed by the band invited them to be initially special guests on his UK tour and Rob with The Storys went on to tour not only UK but Europe and Scandinavia for the next 2 years. Rob's songs can be heard in the American teen drama "One Tree Hill" and number 1 box office film "The Bank Job" in which he also briefly appears. "Dust" is Rob's debut solo album and his wonderful evocative songs showcase not only his abilities as a lead singer but also his unique and widely acclaimed guitar playing skills.

This is Rob's first solo CD and it is amazing - this is a must for music lovers a good one for 2010. Roll on the next one.

I bought this along with 'Closure' by Andy Collins, both of whom are Ex The Storys.

Like all music, a review will be subjective but if you like The Eagles then I'm sure you will like this.

Fortunately, Neither Thompson nor Collins have strayed too far from the Style of Music The Storys were so good at so have a look at The Storys website where you can listen to some of their music.

If you like that then you will like this.

This is without doubt one of the best albums to emerge in 2010 and certainly the best of the year on the Angel Air label. Rob was previously a member of The Storys but has spread his wings and produced this solo effort. How can I best describe it? How about laid back, sublime, easy going, beautiful and catchy with plenty of memorable hooks and lyrics. It is an absolute gem from beginning to end and he should be very proud of this lovely collection of songs. Clever.

I gave this a 5 star because the CD deserved it. There was nothing at all on the CD that I did not like. Rob's amazing guitar playing, his voice, and his amazing ability to story tell in his songs were amazing. Being a fan of the Storys, the CD was strangely familiar, like sitting in a favourite comfortable armchair. Rob had written/sung so many songs on previous Storys CDs so I knew that Dust would be something special! Well done Rob - brilliant CD - can't wait for the next one!
