Unlike some cheaper hubs, this works with all devices (printer, ipod charger, iphone connection, 2 external hard drives, external floppy drive) with no problems (on a Mac), out of the box. The key for a number of devices is to use a mains powered hub, like this one, because an unpowered one can't get enough power from the USB connection. Recommended.

Bought this USB 10 port hub a couple of months ago because I never seemed to have quite enough sockets. It's brilliant, 9 sockets fanning out round the edge with one vertically mounted on the top, means you can plug all your cables in without it getting too crammed and still got room on top to stick a usb stick in for that occasional use. Can connect the stick with 1 hand (in and out) which seems really convenient. The unit hasn't missed a beat, no dropped ports and no power supply issues due to mains powered external supply. Best 15quid I've spent in years, does exactly what it says on the tin!

I've currently got all the following devices connected via a single port on my Toshiba Portege (all work perfectly, all the time, without a glitch):

HTC phone on charge/sync
mouse
keyboard
printer
scanner
D to A music amp
external disk drive

still got room for USB Stick plus 2 spare ports for anything else. Get one!!

Cheers...

What I really wanted was mains-powered hub that got a lot of junk off my desk. This is the answer. So now it has two printers, an i-phone, a usb drive, a Kindle, Eye-TV, and a keyboard all plugged which can be connected to my well-travelled MacBook Pro whenever it comes home. It's pretty flat and compact, doesn't seem to generate any heat and shows a little light when each port is connected. Great value at £15 and I would have paid more for the simplification it provides on my desk.

Under normal use as a 10 port powered hub it works perfectly, but it has been cheaply designed and lacks a diode to prevent current flowing backwards through the cable that connects hub to PC. This will in no way affect a full size computer, but it causes the Raspberry Pi to attempt to turn on, which fails due to the 100ma current limit. The Pi is then stuck in this state until both power and USB cables are removed.

This makes turning the Pi on and off a cumbersome process, as both the Pi power cable and the hub cable must be disconnected and quickly reconnected (about 1-2 second window to complete it on faster distros like OpenELEC/DarkELEC) in the correct order.

That being said, it DOES provide enough power through a micro-usb cable to power the Pi at full speed and without any issues associated with low power micro-usb chargers, so the cheap engineering does pay off in that it can supply more than 500ma through a port.

Comes in easy to open plastic packaging that can be closed again, very nice.

Comes with USB cable, UK Mains adaptor (for higher current use if needed) and the USB hub itself.

9 sockets and 1 on the top make 10.

Red LED for power, 10 blue LED's to say the state of the port, these are in a ring around the single USB port on the top.

Looks nice, great that it has a decent power supply (2 amps) and over current protection they call it Aquadam.

Just what I was looking for.

Having purchased a new imac with the usb ports on the back of the screen wanted something more convenient and with less wires to my imac so purchased one of these and for the price is extremly good value.like the way it lights up each port as you use them and have had 3 external hard drives webcam and printer all hooked up with no problems and its surprising how quickly you use up the ports but with 10 at least you arn't constantly swapping over cables.

Having been using an old extra USB port adapter for my new laptop, I kept getting messages saying that my printer, scanner, etc would run faster if I used a High Speed USB port. I decided to spend a little more money and buy one. Most of the reviews were favourable for the Duronic so I decided to buy one. It came well packaged and I had no trouble plugging in all the hardware I have. All the ports work and I no longer get a that irritating message. Too bad I'm left with another bit of kit that has become obsolete.
