Not sure why there are so many negative reviews. Perhaps people bought this thinking it was something else, or is meant to be used for a different application.
I bought mine months ago and it has been just great. I've been using it to connect my iPod to the AUX interface on my car radio (via a SendStation PocketDock) and it couldn't be better. Ideal length (0.5m), so there isn't excess cable trailing around.
Addition from April 2012:
As luck (or lack of it) would have it, the day after I wrote the above review the damned thing bust. I noticed that only one channel was coming through my car speakers and when I got home I could see that one of the soldered connections had come adrift. Not best pleased and the lead is now on its way to the bin.

Used this to connect iPod to BMW X3 radio. No problem whatsoever, worked fine immediately and cannot fault it. Reproduction from iPod equal to built in CD player so no quality issues.

This lead is perfect for connecting my iPod nano to my car stereo using the Aux option. The lead is just the right length and have had no problem with the quality of sound. Would definitely recommend it.

Just does not work
It's hard to believe that something as simple as three bits of wire soldered to a couple of plugs doesn't actually work! Maybe there is short or something. Read more

Faulty
Produced a very quiet sound even of full volume. Great chunks of the audible spectrum were missing. Don't buy. I order a cheaper one to replace it.

Dreadful
