Product Description

Mikado, Masaomi and Anri continue their peaceful everyday life. But this is just the tip of the iceberg because the three friends are still unaware of others real status in Ikebukuro. Anri, who noticed the strange behavior of Kida, decide to investigate and eventually finds out what is wrong with his friend.

Meanwhile, a gang war starts to break out between the Yellow Scarves and the Dollars over the identity of the Slasher. As the aggressions towards Dollars members are getting more and more frequent, their leader is seriously thinking about a potential disbandment.

What Did Anri discover about Kiba? And can the gang war be really put to an end?

2.0 out of 5 stars one very unhappy otaku 22 Mar 2012

Before anything else I want to make it clear that this scathing review is for the horrendous PACKAGING of the 3 Durarara Volumes alone, NOT the anime itself. This is one of the best anime I have seen in recent years, hence why I was willing to pay £45 to have it in my collection, english dub or not. If you want my glowing review of Durarara as an anime, please pop over to Volume 1 and browse the 5 star reviews. If you want to know why I eagerly opened my Amazon parcel this morning and promptly started shaking with anger, stay on the line.

First problem. The only other 'Beez' DVD (Sound of the Sky) I own also suffers the first problem these Durarara DVDs have: the back of the DVD which provides a blurb, region information, credits, feature length, audio/format info and list of extras, is nothing but a slip of paper which falls away once you've opened the outer packaging. WHAT. Are Beez so cheap they can't just print that to the back of the DVD like *every other DVD in existence*?? Hugely irritating that I now need to file that slip somewhere to retain the info, or stick it to the back of my beautiful collection using glue or something.

Second problem: did anyone even LOOK at these Durarara DVDs before they were mass-manufactured and made available to the general public? On Volume 1 Ryuugamine's name is printed 'Ry gamine' - just a blank gap where the middle of his name should be. And Volume 3 names Kida in the first paragraph, and has decided to call him 'Kiba' by the third. Do we have Naruto characters migrating into Durarara now?! 1 printing error is careless; 2 is lazy, shoddy, abysmal workmanship that I've just paid through the nose for.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic anime 18 April 2012

Over the last couple of years i have became a massive anime fan, i pretty much buy everything i can get my hands on. I had watched Baccano, which is also brilliant, and a friend told me that this was the same style of story so i had to give it a try. I was not disappointed, Durarara!! is one of the best series i've seen in a while.

The story begins with a student called Mikado Ryugamine who moves to Ikebukuro in order to gain some excitement in his life. However upon arrival he ends up getting dragged into a world of gangs, information brokers and the mystery of a headless biker. Unfortunately that's about the best i can do without giving away to much of the story all i can say is there is a great name of twist and turns in the story that makes this a truly memorable series.

As i said before this follows the same format as Baccano. For those who don't know what i talking about this is a series that has no true main character like Naruto or Bleach. Instead it follows a number of characters all with there own storylines that interact with each other throughout the series eventually coming together at the very end.

One important factor everyone needs to know about this series is that there is no english dub this series is subbed only. Personally I couldn't give a monkeys but that's me. Also the box is kind of weird, Beez has obviously recently thought that normal DVD boxes are boring. Therefore they have decided to put all series outside of their ANIME LEGENDS range into these sort of hardboard cases which either open in a different way, see pics of item, or make them look like books, code geass, or boxes, gundam 00. I actually like these boxes, this could either be because i'm more accepting or more likely that i'm easily amused.
