The only sides released from this session formed a limited edition, and now stupidly rare, single in 1967. Most of this material has never been heard publicly since the day it was recorded, 38 years ago.
McPhee was close to the beginning of his long recording career when this session was committed to tape, and has since rightly gained recognition as one of the UKs foremost blues and rock guitarists.
Aces immaculate remastering puts the listener in the room with Jack and Tony, so clear is the sound.
In a career that spanned more than half a century, Champion Jack recorded no other session like this Far removed from Duprees barrelhouse piano style, it is a real one-off that will amaze those who only know him through records like Junkers Blues and Shim Sham Shimmy.
Notes include Tony McPhees personal reminiscences of the session.

This review is from: Dupree 'n' Mcphee: the 1967 Blue Horizon Session (Audio CD)
TS McPhee on acoustic guitar before the Groundhogs and Champion Jack Dupree with his own inimitable style. They just go together so well - one to play again and again
