I have seen this film several times now, and each time i watch it i enjoy it even more. It dosen't have the best acting in the world, nor the best storyline, but it's fun and entertaining all the same.
It's about a loveable Orangutan called Dunston who checks into one of the best hotels in America, and before long has the place turned upside down. Kyle, the managers son is determined to help the monkey escape his evil owner and find a better home for him.
As i have said before, the acting isn't great in this film, but as it's designed for children, it dosen't really have to be anything special. They will be too amazed by Dunston the Orangutan and what he gets up to, to notice.
In some films which have animals starring in them, such as 'Homeward Bound', they often have the animals speaking, and to be honest i don't find this funny or realistic. It's much better when they talk through there actions.
A graet movie and the slapstick humour of it is sure to entertain young children, and adults as well if you watch it with them. Definately worth buying if you have children, as they will never want to stop watching it.

Good childrens film. Slpastick humour that children find funny and a loveable monkey result in a good wet afternoon film.

As far as I'm concerned this film isn't just for children! I was channel-hopping and came across it, watched for about 10 minutes then ended up watching the whole film.

A quality cast that includes Rupert Everett and Faye Dunaway, both on fine form in their roles, keep the laughs coming and help make this throughly entertaining viewing. You cannot help but be won over by 'Dunstan' who is truly the cutest and cheekiest monkey I've seen in any film.

Buy this dvd and next time it's raining on a sunday afternoon and everyone's bored, gather your friends and/or family round the tv and watch it. I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as I did.

I wept during every moment the talented Dunston spent on screen. He is the most dynamic and charismatic ape to hit the scene since that crazy orange beast that propelled Clint Eastwood to stardom. Put Dunstons moving performance with the hilarious physical comedy of Baby's day out, and you've got a really cracking comedy double!

Sat and watched this on a sat evening with a bag of popcorn and a soft drink with our 8 and 10 year old grandchildren. We all found it very funny and highly entertaining especially when someone says an S word.... ( the 8 yr old grandson had to rewind and watch that bit again about 5 times !)Brilliant film for all and we have decided we want to adopt Dunston. It was funny and sad and could make us grown ups think about priorities where children are concerned

GREAT FILM ! fab childhood memories coming back

But when this item arrived the dvd had not been clipped into it's holder
in the dvd box correctly and so it was able to slide around.

this caused the disk to become scratched however, it seems to be in working
order.

not impressed.

This is one of the funniest and most feel-good films I and my family have seen.We have given copies to children in the extended family as Christmas presents and it has been loved wherever it has been seen.

It is easily in the top ten family films for me (and for my wife).

This is priceless and a must for all kids. It is when Rupert Everett was unknown and before he crashed out - see what Piers Morgan thinks of him in Celebrity Apprentice.
Anyway all characters are perfect in this film and I never mind watching it again.
