4.0 out of 5 stars Dunhill Droooone 22 Dec 2005
By CJ Sull - Published on Amazon.com

I gotta hand it to you first Mike, I've been bumpin this in my ride fo weeeks..

Mr. Boo did it again.. with his first solo release "dunhill drone commitee", he pushed the levels even higher.. All the sounds and instruments were cut and scratched using a turntable, records and mixer... scracting as we like to call it.

It starts out with the mellow indian vibe and then rolls off into a journey of diffrent genres.. A must have for anybody interested in turntablism and instrumental beats...

5.0 out of 5 stars The uncovered secret... 1 Aug 2006

Wow!!! I have listened to some of his previous work over the years and I must say that this little secret that the BOO Family has not even spoken of is beyond everything I've ever heard him do. Several years ago, he gave me a sample CD and asked me to listen to it. It was either too "out there" or my ears were not open to the frequencies that he was emitting out of his turntable. I am amazed how much his music has evolved... or perhaps it is me who has evolved. Nevertheless, I am proud to say that as far back as I can remember, Mikey has lived for music. His music has integrity and is truthful -- just like him.

I cannot wait to purchase this album and display it prominently in my house while I await the next family party. Boy... will the entire BOO CLAN be surprised. No one in our family has said anything about this huge moment in his life. Take a listen to some of the samples... geeez... I'm not even into his scene and i am affected. It's sooo much more polished and cohesive -- sounds like nothing I've ever heard him play.

I am truly inspired by this man... he has always remained true to his music.

Thank goodness I stumbled upon his CD while messing around on the google search engine -- otherwise, I may never have known...

4.0 out of 5 stars The Things You Can Do With Two Tables And A Mixer {4.5 Stars} 23 Feb 2007

Entirely produced and arranged by Mike Boo, the Dunhill Drone Committee LP is one of the best DJ albums you've never heard of. Though the album plays out as an instrumental album, most of the tracks are created by MB scratching, cutting, and mixing instruments with only his two hands, a pair of tables and a mixer. You can't really ask for much more than what's contained on this album.

Forget about flaws, you won't find them here. I play this in my car, on my Ipod, in my living room, at my desk, and practically everywhere else I can take it. From start to finish, you can just pop it in and let it ride. You should know that there aren't a whole lot of upbeat tracks on this album though. Most of it is dark, smoky instrumentation, but I love it nonetheless.

Mike Boo is a genius and this album is a must have for any aspiring turntablist. Whether you're into hip hop, downtempo, jazz, or whatever -- if you just dig good music, then get this album. Make this one a collection piece.

Standout Tracks: Pathway (My Favorite), Curdled, Wearing Signals Away, Vibrations Transcend Space And Time, and Cantrec
