Please note this is a region 2 DVD and will require a region 2 or region free DVD player in order to play.

Based on the phenomenally successful role-playing game, Dungeons & Dragons: Wrath of the Dragon God takes you deeper into the dark and fantastical world of this fantasy epic.

"Retribution is at hand. Nothing can keep me from it," warns evil Damodar. Already dead, Damodar has nothing to fear. After centuries beneath the grave, the terrifying corpse creature returns to life, armed with the most formidable of weapons - a black orb of unimaginable power, which will enable him to wreak terrible revenge on the Empire of Ismir, whose inhabitants once vanquished him.

It falls to five champions of Ismir to stop him, with prodigious feats of bravery and sorcery. They must face spectral ghouls, thundering armies, and huge winged dragons. Be vigilant. Be bold. The quest begins - let no one turn back.

The story is better than the first one, the acting isnt that bad at all, the special effects although basic in parts are quite good really when looking at other lower budget movies, give this a chance if you liked the first one you will enjoy this more, as it has a more Dungeons and Dragons feel. It may nor be perfect but its worth a watch.

Amazing 3 Jun 2008
Format:DVD
Amazing that such a crapfest that was the first D&D movie should have a sequel that surpasses it in every way!

Good acting, solid D&D plot and nice digital effects.

I too was highly dubious about buying this after the utter crud of the first film but it exceeded all expectations. I don't even mean that this film is only good because it's better than the rubbish first, it's actually a GOOD fantasy film.

I'm writing this at 22.30 after just finishing the film and I'm a 41 yr old married family man, not a D&D teenage-fanatic! (Ok I used to be one....ok I still play occasionally...)

Anyway....

Don't be put off by the first film, give this one a try. I PROMISE you will be happy with your purchase :)

D&D come to life... 14 Mar 2006
By Rowan
Format:DVD
I was slightly dubious about this release. Post lord of the rings I wondered if anything would ever compare... However - this film (more so than the first D&D film) had one thing the LOTR trilogy didn't have... it was D&D through & through...

The acting is great, the special effects fantastic & the storyline was typically D&D... They have iconic charater classes too... A Human Fighter, Human Mage (who later duals as a Cleric), a Human Cleric of Obad-hai, an Elven Mage, a Human Barbarian & a Human Thief... together the band is set.

The film, whilst enjoyable in itself for non D&D fans, really shines if you know the rule set... It has it all there... down to spell components & somatic hand gestures & subtle integration of skills & feats. There are gust of wind spells, barbarian rages - I had great fun!!! And the more you watch it, the more things you pick out! As a big fan of the mage class - I can honestly say both mages were amazing!!! It made me want to get out my rulebooks & start playing!!!

Don't miss the extras either as they have nice touches (like character sheets for the main players!)... Seriously - if you're a D&D fan - you want this film!!! (Just make sure you can play Region 1 DVDs!)

Better than the first film but still not brilliant

Bad script, bad acting = bad movie. OK FX (Blu Ray)
I will never buy another "good" or "OK" D&D movie again. Apparently it will have to be spectacular to be worth watching. Read more
