A rejigged blast from the past role playing boardgame (originally launched back in the day). You play a wizard, warrior, rogue or cleric exploring a dungeon, fighting monsters and collecting loot. The first one back to the board's centre with a set amount of loot is the winner.
The board and cards are colourful, the rules simple. It is a good introduction game for younger players who might be interested in D&D and fantasy games. Good value for the price.
My only gripes were that the character counters would have been nicer as proper figures, not cardboard standups. Once you have the treasure, there is nothing to really stop you getting toward the middle of the board and victory and though you are competeing with other players you cant really do anything to stymie them. The Cleric seems to have a hard time against basic monsters. We had an embarrassing combat with a zombie (which traditionally should be easy for a cleric to trounce) where the difficulty seemed awefully high for, and he got his butt kicked many times. I think some minor tweaking of the difficulty ratings might be useful in future editions. Otherwise a fun time had by all.
