Please don't make the same mistake as me, please don't buy this book. Its just a collection of obvious statements (take some weapons, have some other people in the party, don't forget to take some other stuff, look out for monsters, dungeons can be dark). And over half the 64 pages are adverts for various modules. Nothing actually substantial like good tatics, equipment add-ons, special rules, etc. Basically absolutely nothing that might make your refer to this non-book before, after or during a game where you might be going into a dungeon or developing a scenario involving dungeons. Save your money for something much better like the Rule Compendium.

Totally agree with the previous persons comments. I pretty much buy most things from Wizards and unfortunately this doesn't come anywhere close to a "glad I bought that" purchase. Very little in substance gaming wise and I get the feeling that it's just an advertisement of what adventures had been released for 3rd Edition (that you can still pick up) and what "revamps" of old adventures we might get for 4th (ie in similar vein to the recent Expedition series for Ravenloft and Greyhawk). I think if it was aiming for the nostalgic reader (gamer) of old then it's also fallen very short in this area too. There are a few, short paragraphs of events/areas that are featured in each adventure but nothing that really captures the spirit of your previous gaming experiences. If it was 2-3 times the page count it might have been worthwhile (which would have made far better sense and to also ditch the hardcover. Why they decided to put a hardcover on a 64 page book I just don't understand-it just looks and feels... odd!) otherwise leave it alone and buy something else.

I agree with those who have reviewed this already - this book is a travesty.

The vast majority of it is filled with barely more than advertisements for pre-existing dungeon modules, with the 'advice' that one would expect from a survival guide being limited to little more than a single, small paragraph for each dungeon along the lines of such sage wisdom as 'Bring fire. Lots and lots of fire.' Gee, thanks Mr Obvious!

I would say I was surprised that any company had the audacity to publish a what really does amount to little more than a product catalogue, stick a hardback cover on it and charge money for it under the guise of a book, but in all honesty, WotC has long since ceased to surprise me with the depths they seem willing to sink to simply to try and rake in that little bit of extra cash.

R.I.P. TSR, long gone are the days when those who played the game were viewed as people to work with and make things for, rather than sheep to be ripped off.
