Players return to the world of Aranna and start an all-new adventure in the Dungeon Siege expansion pack, an addition to the popular Dungeon Siege PC title. Players are drawn outside the original Kingdom of Ehb into the wilds of Aranna to solve an ancient mystery.
The adventure reveals the origins, lives, and eventual downfall of the ancient Utraean civilization. Building on the critically acclaimed gameplay found in Dungeon Siege, the expansion pack features a new part of the world to explore. Fantastic creatures to battle, treasures to loot, mysteries to unlock, weapons to wield, armor for protection, and unique items sets make up this mysterious world.All-new campaign. The Dungeon Siege: Legends of Aranna expansion pack challenges players to journey, explore, and fight their way through nine spectacular areas. One area is an all-new jungle region that players can explore as they unravel the rich history and mystery of the world of Aranna.
Additional spells. Mages wield dozens of new magic spells, including Diminution, Animal Rage, Zorkon’s Bonecrusher, and the Orb of Fire.
Half-giant player character. Standing over nine feet tall, the new half-giant player character towers above the rest of the characters and attacks with a primal ferocity.Even more intense battles. As players adventure through Aranna, they encounter previously unseen species of creatures to battle, including the reptilian Zaurask and the giant catlike Hassat.
Cooler treasure. The player can find rare and powerful treasure sets among the spoils of battle in the Dungeon Siege expansion. These sets include items, powerful in their own right, that when combined grant the owner new and wondrous abilities.
New pack animal. This pack animal, the Tragg, fights back, defending the player’s treasure to the death if necessary.

Fun:
This is by far one of the most fun games to play with really good graphics. You can zoom into the action, interfaces work really well, short cut keys are excellent and character skills are unique. You control whether a character and npc's become fighters or rangers or mages by the skill they use and this increases the more they are used, spells, ranged or melee weapons. Armour and weapons and spells are level restricted again bringing a measure of strategy in geting you to hold on to those items found early on. Not as intense as Neverwinter nights Neverwinter Nights 2 (PC DVD)or as limited as Baldurs gate Baldur's Gate Compilation (PC DVD). All in all a very addictive game, once I had to remind myself to sleep as I played the game 5hrs solid.
Fun:
I just love how the story line follows along in the second of this great series. I thoroughly enjoyed the game and found the graphics were very well done. This is a must for any adventurer to have in their game collection

This is an action cRPG that came out after DIABLO II and just before NEVERWINTER NIGHTS. And it blew both of them out of the water!
Not as deep as NWN, yet the story engaged you enough to make it more than a hack'n'slash. Not as dark as DIABLO II, yet blood fever will take hold of you once in battle. A number of innovative ideas made DUNGEON SIEGE a unique experience: the cinematic perspective, the original characters (who thought up...machine-gun shooting medieval robots!), the fighting-back pack-mule...
At the same time, both the enemies' and your company members' AI is well above par.
Graphically, this is a 4 year game yet it plays much smoother and it has further horizons than most cRPGs today. Even if, to any true cRPG fun, graphics is not everything (otherwise DAWN OF MAGIC would have been considered a great game), DUNGEON SIEGE is found wanting in nothing when it comes to graphics. Not until TITAN QUEST got released could any cRPG hold a candle to DUNGEON SIEGE! Tress and grass move as you pass by, water ripples as you step into it and wakes as you walk through it. Everything worn or wielded appears on the character; whereas, magic spells are not shabby at all.
The game also sports a GREAT CAMERA PLACEMENT (zoom capable and totally customizable) and has one of the BEST SOUNDTRACKS - the theme music will stay with you as the appropriate theme for any epic battles in the future.
Those of you who were (rightfully) disappointed with the truly bad and much shorter DUNGEON SIEGE 2 (I still cannot fathom how they managed to botch that one!), keep in mind that it has only skin-deep similarities to its predecessor. This is the one to buy!
At this price, it is a great deal too - and you will enjoy it more than most latest games!

Hack'n'Slash with magic. Ronseal (tm).
It's a pity that this game (as far as I have tried) will not work on Windows Vista or 7, so you'll need an older WinXP machine to play it. Read more

This game is an expansion to DS1 and plays much in the same way; a looming evil must be defeated and it's down to you and your band of merry men. Read more

Not On Windows 7
It seemed OK until I upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium. It won't work on that platform. You can download emulators, but I've had some bad experiences of those and older... Read more

Classic
If you've not played dungeon siege, try it the original Dungeon Siege (this is an expansion), but it is adictive...

Fun but uninspired, a little unbalanced
