great buy 28 April 2002
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
if you've got the forgotten realms setting this is great. the tbles combine 3rd edition core rules and the forgotten realms additional rules.
TIP:dont let this ruine your game-it can become a psycological boundry sometimes and this should be avoided-put it to the side of your game area

No FR DM should be without one! 22 Mar 2002
By lordanthrax - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This is hands-down one of the most useful tools a Realms DM can own. The Screen is decent, with some useful info on the inside, and some nice art, but the real prize and reason for buying this screen is the Realms-tailored Encounters booklet. You can generate Dungeon Encounters and Wilderness Encounters that include the beasties from the Campaign Setting and Monsters of Faerun, and on top of that, the Wilderness Encounters have sections for specific Realms locations where appropriate. If you're going to do FR, you should buy this as soon as you can, it's worth three times its cost in usefulness.

An excellent choice for a screen 7 July 2005
By Razi - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I ordered this screen to replace my old one, the 3rd version screen, which has been in use for some 4 years or so. Based on reviews here, I decided to go with the Forgotten Realms screen, and it was a great choice.

First, I really liked its art, especially in compare to my old, 3rd V. screen that had too many elements in it. The FR screen's art is divided into 2-2 surface artwork, probably featuring Drizzt and Artemis (that can be seen here using the "look inside the book feature"), and two parts that are a scene from the underdark, an adventuring band fighting 2 orcs and a beholder. Unlike the 3rd V screen, each of the 4 folding parts is much focused, and the art is better, in my opinion, than the 3rd V one.

On the back side of the screen, the choice of tables is quite different than the 3rd V screen. It is covering the action types, cover and concealment like the 3rd V one, but it isn't covering skill checks. Instead, they have put in the weapon and armor tables, plus tables needed to determine object AC and hp, FR calendars, undead turning, movement modifiers, and more. It takes some time to find all this in the book, though, as I mentioned, they gave up the quite handy skills and Dc's.

The included 32 pages booklet is used to create encounters in the FR quickly for levels 1-20, and it is a good addition, and more than you will get from other screens.

If you are looking for a screen, I would strongly recommend you to get this one. Yes, it's for Version 3.0, and you might not even be playing in the FR, but it is featuring good artworks to enjoy and handy information for the DM.

good dm reference guide 20 Mar 2002
By Forrest B. Crock - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
has alot of information for the DM to use at his/her fingertips, instead of having to flip through books or bookmark books. also i think the random encounter tables are very useful, for DMs in the forgotten realm scenario. and extremly useful piece for any DM
