The sand don't care, and it never did.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing story in the world of Sand 11 Jun 2014

Michael Bunker does an amazing job with this fan fiction from Hugh Howey's world of Sand. While reading this book it's hard to believe that two different people wrote Sand and Dunes over Danvar since they are so similar. I love the characters the author created, and the adventures he sends them on. I love the story of family and friendship and the struggle for survival in such a harsh environment. I eagerly anticipated each new book in the series, and now the Dunes over Danvar Omnibus is available for everyone to read the stories at once. If you enjoyed Sand, you will love Dunes over Danvar.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's never predictable with Michael Bunker! 27 Jun 2014

I was very intrigued with the story and the whole concept of a world covered in sand. There were elements of sci fy, but it didn't detract from the story. I haven't read any of the books that this story was based on, but really enjoyed the surprises that Michael Bunker always puts into his stories. His books are generally fresh and inventive. Please read this book and others in his series!

5.0 out of 5 stars ...the cry of the sand hawk... 23 Sep 2014
By Cheryl Stout - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Michael Bunker's DUNES OVER DANVAR OMNIBUS continues the story about a future world created by author Hugh Howey in his Sand Omnibus tale.

The area around Denver, Colorado is covered by sand hundreds of feet deep. It is a harsh, cruel world inhabited by sand divers and suppliers to the divers.

Bunker's tale tells us of Peary, a sand diver who makes a huge discovery, his girlfriend Marisa, an elderly poet, and Reggie, a sandal hop - joining together as a loose family unit and trying to escape the sands by traveling west.

Now if only sand pirates would let them go.

Fully developed characters, believable dialogue, great world building - all brought together in a three-part fairly short novel (177 pages) that still manages to tell a huge tale.

Do yourself a favor and read the SAND OMNIBUS first and then definitely read DUNES OVER DANVAR.
