"Most of these stories are laugh out loud funny, written by a terrific writer who is always capable of engaging her audience. The last story is touching and made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Great job Sibel, can't wait to read more of your work." -- Mel Comley, author of Impeding Justice

"Sibel Hodge does it again! This ebook was awesome. If you are into chick lit and want to read something easy, not to long and funny read then this is a awesome little ebook. This is a great read and I promise you will enjoy this and laugh out loud a few times. I know I did" -- Geeky Girl Reviews

"Yet another winner by Sibel who is fast becoming my favourite 'chick-lit' author" -- Wistful Kimmie's Book Reviews

"Sibel Hodge has perfect comedic timing and this collection of short stories does not disappoint!" -- Lisa Lim, author of Confessions of a Call Centre Gal

Welcome to My World...

I'm an author of chick lit romances and mysteries. In my spare time I'm Wonder Woman! My world is sometimes wacky, quirky, and very accident-prone.

This is a collection of five humorous short stories - what I like to call true fiction. Some are true, some are fiction, and some are a mixture of both. I guess you have to decide which is which!

I often get asked if I'm like any of my characters in my novels, and I have to groan and say, yes. When you read these stories you'll realize how, and a lot of them have inspired scenes in my novels, although names have been omitted or changed to protect me against lawsuits!

Are you ready to find out "how to dump your boyfriend in the men's toilets", why "yoga is bad for your house", what the "S-Word has to do with your lady garden", why you need to "follow that goat", and whether "kismet" does really exist?

(Short stories total 6,500 words. Also includes bonus material and chapters from my novels, Fourteen Days Later, My Perfect Wedding, The Fashion Police, and Be Careful What You Wish For)

Sibel Hodge has dual British/Turkish Cypriot nationality, dividing her time between Hertfordshire and North Cyprus. She is a qualified personal trainer, sports and massage therapist, and writes freelance feature articles on health, fitness, and various lifetyle subjects. Prior to this, she also worked for Hertfordshire Constabulary for ten years.

Her first novel, Fourteen Days Later, was short listed for the Harry Bowling Prize 2008 and received a highly commended by the Yeovil Literary Prize 2009. It is a romantic comedy with a unique infusion of British and Turkish Cypriot culture. Written in a similar style to Sophie Kinsella and Marian Keyes, Fourteen Days Later is My Big Fat Greek Wedding meets Bridget Jones. My Perfect Wedding is the sequel to Fourteen Days Later, although it can be read as a standalone novel.

The Fashion Police was a runner up in the Chapter One Promotions Novel Competition 2010 and nominated Best Novel with Romantic Elements 2010 by The Romance Reviews. It is a screwball comedy-mystery, combining murder and mayhem with romance and chick-lit, and the first in a series featuring feisty, larger-than-life insurance investigator, Amber Fox. Written in a similar style to Janet Evanovich and Myron Bolitar, The Fashion Police is Stephanie Plum meets Harlan Coben. Be Careful What You Wish For is the second Amber Fox Mystery.

5.0 out of 5 stars Could not stop laughing! 26 Sep 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a collection of hysterical, laugh-out-loud short stories told as only Sibel can.

I really enjoyed these. Each story was screamingly funny with my significant other rolling his eyes at me each time I guffawed. 'Reading another Sibel are you? Say no more!' he said. My favourites were 'The S-Word and the Lady Garden', because it is especially relevant to me and 'Kismet' because it was both sweet and funny at the same time.

All in all yet another winner by Sibel who is fast becoming my favourite 'chick-lit' author. (As well as being the one who introduced me to the genre in the first place!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Still Laughing 12 July 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
As a dark crime fan I don't read much Chicklit, but I started reading this book of short stories by Chicklit author Sibel Hodge, and couldn't put it down. I finished it the same day I started reading it, and don't think I stopped laughing from beginning to end. Sibel includes quite a variety in this short book. there were stories about boyfriends, yoga, holidays, goats, smear tests and even a chocolate recipe. However, my favourite was 'The S-Word and the Lady Garden', I almost did myself a damage by laughing so much, and believe me, you don't ever want to find a tic tac in your Lady Garden.

This was a great set of stories by an author who was unknown to me, possibly because Chicklit has never grabbed me. But hey, I think this author may just possibly have widened my reading experience with 'Chick Lit and the F-Word', although I'll never be a fan of Jane Austen.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Little Book of FUN! 12 July 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Well Ms Hodge, you've certainly gone and done it again! A fun little book complete with anecdotes, short stories and don't let's forget the fab chocoholic recipe! Delicious!

Sibel has a real talent to amuse, as a famous writer once said (Noel Coward). Witty, acerbic and straight up my street!

I found I was nodding my head as I recollected myself in similar predicaments - Sibel has a real gift to bring these little gems to life.

Don't take up another day job! This is great fun and as a Sibel Hodge fan I can really recommend this and Fourteen Days Later.

5.0 out of 5 stars Chocolate Orgasm!! And Chick-lit! 16 July 2011
By Tonyak
Format:Kindle Edition
This short story anthology is definitely a good time! I laughed out loud at the situations she's found herself in! From advice to follow the goat to how to spot a certain guy...personal favorite "Mr Every Girl Who Doesn't Fancy Me Is A Lesbian." It's a refreshing, quick read that will introduce you to Hodge's fun, quirky chick-lit sense of humor. A MUST READ!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fab little read 4 July 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I'm not usually a fan of short stories, as I like to get my teeth into a story, but these were definitely worthwhile reading. These 5 stories are billed as "True Fiction" and make you wonder just how much is truth and how much is artistic licence! "The S-Word and the Lady Garden" had my husband wondering what I was laughing so much about, and I wasn't sure whether to tell him or not! (Partly because I am exactly the kind of person to dig grotty tissues out of my handbag - you need to read it!)
I will definitely have to try the chocolate orgasms recipe from one of Sibel Hodges other books - again, not sure whether to share with my husband!
All in all this is a great collection of short stories which will appeal to all the clumsy, normal women out there! It hits such a true note, and for much less than the price of a magazine is well worth buying to dip into, and infinitely better than a copy of Heat magazine!
