From the Publisher

Tom Arnold has written an intriguing, exciting tale of murder and mayhem amongst the bad boys and girls of old London town, hopefully it will entertain and appall you in equal measure. We think it's a superb addition to our stable of 'Industrial Strength' British crime fiction and hope you do too.

5.0 out of 5 stars A roller coaster ride through a mad 24 hours 10 Nov. 2010
Format:Paperback
[ASIN:0956078877 Dumb Luck]]

Tom Arnold has created a fast paced, roller-coaster ride through 24 hours of Micky's O'Brien's life. Just out of prison to find his Dad dying, with Micky framed for the murder, he must find the killer before the police find him. His lower than average intellect, best mate, Rezza, is his side-kick, helping (sometimes hindering) him to find the killer.

The story takes the reader on a white-knuckle journey through the mean streets of London.

Tom Arnold's writing creates vivid images in your mind throwing in some intelligent and witty muses along the way. I couldn't put it down. Indeed, like a hot date, this is a book you don't want to end because it is so enjoyable. I hope a follow-up is on the cards.

An superb book from a very promising author. Buy it! You won't regret it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than Harry Potter 17 Mar. 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Tom is a very good friend of mine so I'm giving this book five stars. If I didn't know him I would have given it four, because it isn't really my genre, but I enjoyed it a great deal.

I barely put the book down from start to finish, and in that time I laughed out loud (yes, I actually did), winced, cringed, and stubbed my toe. Rollercoaster has been used in a lot of the reviews. I would go with that and add that we are talking proper a rollercoaster and not Legoland rubbish. There is a real sense of pace to the story and it comes at you thick and fast, like my poo.

Tom's book has left me with some lasting memories of scenes that were depicted beautifully (particularly the Morris Oxford in the snow).

I want to read the sequel, so Tom - stop producing offspring and start writing again.

5.0 out of 5 stars MUST BUY 16 Nov. 2010
By AndyQ
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This is the best book I have read for years. Chaos raged all around me as my 2 young kids played with every toy imaginable whilst I willed Micky and Rezza to beat the "big boys". The colourful characters are true to life and yet larger than life; you connect with them and need them to succeed. The humour and adventure keep you rooted to each page throughout the book from the first sentence until the last.......You will not want to put it down until you have finished it. Can't wait for the sequel, and a fab film this would definitely make. Move over Training Day....
Well Done Byker Books on spotting the talent of this new author.

4.0 out of 5 stars luck the good and the bad 26 Feb. 2014
By loops
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A good read especially for those who have experienced the darker side of life, a tale which keeps you turning the pages and dreading finishing the end of this adventure, it maybe fiction but a glimpse into the underworld that so many are unaware could even exist. Suitable for over 12 year olds ....these days! All together a good read!
