This is a short and amusing read though some of the examples seemed a little irrelevant somehow. What was worth the price of the book was the illustrations which I thought were brilliant. I particularly loved the picture which went with the story of the woman phoning the emergency services because she'd bought a rabbit and its ears stood up straight instead of being floppy. The rabbit's expression is priceless.

I think my overall impression of this book is that it provides a sad indictment of humanity. Do people really expect others to provide for their every need? If your pizza has mushrooms on and you didn't order mushrooms complain to the company and/or pick them off - don't phone the emergency services!

A short and sweet book for a little light hearted reading. I've given the author 4 stars instead of 3 because although the book can be read in about 20 minutes, the fact that he took the time to research the material and also increase the humour a little with cartoon images, I believe he deserves some credit and an extra star for effort, so well done.

Stuart, you may want to add this anecdote to part 2. A friend of mine, who works for the ambulance service, recently attended to a young girl at her home after she called 999. When the crew arrived she said, 'I didn't really want an ambulance but I didn't know the phone number for the new 111 service, so I rang 999 instead. Classic!

I do enjoy reading about the idiots who ring 999 and want an ambulance for a really stupid thing - like they've broken a nail or have a paper cut! - but I read this book so quickly it wasn't really worth the money. I would recommend anyone who wants a laugh ( or to get really mad at the reasoning of some people) to buy it if it's about £1 or less. Sorry Stuart - I have read your other books, can't wait for another one but this wasn't one of your best.

100ish pages of dribble, poorly written with childish attempts at cartoon graphics. Took me 12 minutes to read 53% of the book before life support systems began to fail and I gave up reading as life is too short. However....buy this book if you are suicidal and need another reason to fly this mortal coil.

This book details some of the most inappropriate emergency calls along with links to some of the actual call recordings. An easy read with funny illustrations, it provided me with an evening of giggles...and left me questioning some people's sanity!
