I am a fan of the original film starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels and i enjoyed this film aswell. Obviously, Olsen and Richardson come no where near to the original duo but they did do a good job of..well..acting dumb i guess.
I mean this film is no classic like Dumb and Dumber but it was fun and entertaining, i do not agree with all of the negative comments of critics and fans because if you imagine this film came before the original movie i think everyone would react better to it.
Other Jim Carrey-less sequels like Son of The Mask were horrible i agree with that, The Mask is my favourite movie and after seeing it's terible sequel it has taken away all hope for another installment following the first, so i can understand why people are rating this low.
But this film wasnt as bad as everyone is making out, give it a try!

I purchased this quite blindly, not looking at reviews of it or looking at ratings or anything like that. I think this purchase more than any other has taught me the value of getting other ppl's assessments of a film/DVD before spending any money on it, because as far as I'm concerned I wasted my money on this DVD. Perhaps if I had watched it more than once I might have been able to find something to appreciate about it, but my impression of it after watching the first time made me almost completely disown it; it's still in the household, but it ceased to be part of my DVD collection a long time ago.
One of the major reasons why I dislike this film is because I felt that the story wasn't very strong and that a sequel to the original film should have used the original actors and come up with a new story for them to play out. I realize that the chances of that being successful aren't very high either, but in comparison to this film I'm sure it would have been a better film.
