I haven't tried but the instructions say only to use their paint.

if the paint comes in a container the same as the original then yes if the paint is in a tin then no hope this helps

Its thin paint. Just be careful of drips.

The paint for these units only come in 5 litre tubs

Not according to the manufacturer. I've never tried it. The paint is cheap at the moment as it is being discontinued and I've found it easy to use and reasonable value for money.

Hmmmm- yes but you'd need an empty paint pod paint pot to fit inside

it comes with a paint brush, paint cup (for hand painting),roller, dip tube and paint delivery tube (4 metres long). This is with the 5 litre large paint pod. hope it helps.

Presuming the motor is working I would run a couple of cleaning operations using warm water in the hope there is a blockage of old paint somewhere.
