5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant White PaintPod 5L (Silk Finish) 23 Mar 2013

This paint is "brilliant!" It can be used to brush in the edges around corners, fittings, etc using the excellent edging brush in the Dulux 5L PaintPod System and, of course, is ideally suited to the geared PaintPod pump. The paint is formulated to maintain its viscosity ("thickness") and has very low "foaming". This means that when the roller is coated, it does not slide but delivers an even coat. The paint dries quite quickly (2 to 4 hours) and can be overcoated easily in the day (coat 1 after breakfast, coat 2 after lunch! If you do manage to spill any (and it takes a deal of effort to do it!), it cleans up quite easily with a damp sponge.

I chose the silk finish as I wanted to use it in my wet room - the slight sheen rejects water better than a matt finish. I have tested the "scrubbability" when fully dry (24 hours) by using an old nylon pan scrubber - no paint came off and the surface did not take on a polished look. Although not marketed as a bathroom/kitchen/tough environment paint, I feel sure, if you use two coats, that it will resist condensation and wear and tear for 5 years under normal conditions. Although a little more expensive than the can version, you do waste a lot less - I've painted my wet room (2 walls plus ceiling) with 2 coats and used about 1/3rd of the 5L pack.
