Sue Limb takes the reader on a journey through Dulcie's domesitic world. We are treated to her private triumphs and hilarious failures to be the perfect wife, mother and businesswoman in our modern society.
It reminded me of the style of Maureen Lipman's novels - chaotic and well observed. The humour will especially appeal to those with children and a husband who seldom emerges from behind reading matter to take part in family life!
Woven amongst this snapshot of family chaos is the so called 'bonk buster' novel our heroine is struggling to write ... just as soon as she can get those seed potatoes planted before they turn to compost in the corner of her kitchen!
This novel is far more engaging than the Guardian column Sue Limb writes - the characters of the children seems far more hilarious, and you don't quite know what's going to happen next!
