(This is a Region One release.)
At last, one of my favourite modern cartoon characters is coming to a DVD player near me soon. I purchased Ren and Stimpy season one and two and enjoyed them, but this character is the one I've been waiting for.
Trying to follow the adventures of this excitable private dick was an adventure in itself, as the TV station over here put it on at anytime, but always very late at night.
It always seemed to me that the TV station didn't know how to handle this show.
My VHS tapes are on the way out now, so this release has come at the right time.
Most of the subject matter will go over a childs head, but this is definitely not a cartoon for kids anyway.

The eponymous character comes across as a mixture of a wise cracking, un-pc, Inspector Clouseau type, it's his side kick Cornfed who's the real brains behind this outfit, and he's obviously based on; "Dragnets" Joe Friday.
If your easily offended you may find some episodes a bit indecorous, so you've been warned.
My favourite character after Duckman himself was his eldest son Ajax, "most excellently" voiced by Frank Zappa's son Dweezil.
Original US run dates, march 5 1994-september 6 1997.
(Overall there were four seasons, seventy episodes in total.)

Remember watching and loving Duckman at ludicrous hours of the morning in the 90s. Finally gave in and treated myself to the full box-set. It's even better than I remember, Jason Alexander as Duckman is just genius, not to mention Cornfed and the rest of the characters too. Like the other reviewer, I have no idea why this isn't on BBC3 with Family Guy, American Dad etc, this is every bit as good and was probably the template for most adult animation that followed. If you're a fan of F.G & A.D etc you really do owe yourself Duckman!

If I remember rightly, Duckman was shown late at night on Channel 4, in the early 90s. Having bought these sets, I was pleased to discover that the content hasn't dated at all - it's still just as hilarious and relevant.

A fantastic world of animal/human hybrids beautifully animated. Eric Duckman is an alluring but selfishly flawed character whose oversized libido brings many hilarious encounters. Recommend this nineties classic to anyone tired of the endless, and tired American Dad and Family Guy. For all those complaining that this is only released for region one... so what? Find out how to unlock your dvd/blu ray player to region zero? Problem solved.

The best cartoon ever, but not nearly as well known as it should be. People who have heard of South Park & Simpsons often haven't heard of Duckman, which is in a league of its own. Should be released in Europe on Region 2 - then they'll be fewer problems with You Tube copyright issues.
