I loved this book mainly for the characters. They were so funny together. Almost reminded me of the other couple in Loretta Chase's book Lord of Scoundrels. There are some parts of the book that I laughed so hard, I had tears rolling off my cheeks and other parts that I truly felt for the heroine. What an amazing skill to bring words so to life that you could feel as well as imagine. Can't wait for the next book from this author. If you are reading this, can you continue with Ren's friends.

This was this first book I have read of Peggy waide and it will definitely be the last. The story line was utterley unbelieviable, the characters shallow and unreal and the actual language in parts would have been more suited to a novel set in modern rather than historical times.I had to read to the end as i could not believe it could be so bad, unfortunately it was.

Entetaining, funny! a good read. 19 May 2000

The plot is very interesting and the character lovable. It is always enjoyable to read a romance novel with a strong heroine who does not just fall head over heel for the hero. The development is believable and fast pass. I look forward to reading another book by her.

Excellent read. 7 Dec 1999

This was a very good book. The characters were well written and the conflict between the characters was very good, funny at times than serious at times. I can hardly wait for Tam's and Walter's stories. The secondary characters were also well written.

A Must Read 12 Oct 2001
By A Happy Reader - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Mass Market Paperback
I cried, I laughed and I wanted more. I found this book by accideint and I'm so glad I did. Peggy W makes reading regency so fun. Her heroine is spunky and determined. I like that. She really had a couple of twists I had anticipated at all which is always refreshing. I'm going insearch of her other two books asap.

Good story 11 Feb 2014

Very well written. Great characters. Nice love story. 3 stars means I liked it and wanted to finish it. Personal preference is that I don't love stories that have multiple misunderstandings because of something a character thought the other perceived or because they refuse to Admit their true feelings. This story was full of that. But an enjoyable read nonetheless.
