I recently went to dubai on holiday and used this book every day. The souk walking tour was pretty good (definitely go to the museums suggested). The restaurant and bar reviews may be a little on the kind side but I thought that all in all the book was good value for money.

This guide is full of useful information but the layout makes it difficult to check things quickly or cross reference. The maps are also on a very small scale which isn't useful when you are actually sightseeing. Do be aware though if you are travelling to Dubai of the strict rules about taking drugs into UAE, including medicines which are legal here such as codeine and diazepam.

This travel guide proved to be worth every penny as we used it on every day of our holiday. Information is divided up into the districts of Dubai, which you soon become familiar with once you get there and get your bearings. It was very easy to plan places to visit and places to eat. We used several of the recommended restaurants and all were lovely.In addition to the maps throughout the book, there is also a handy pull out map at the back. The book is light enough to fit in a small bag, pocket or even be carried around. Another plus point is that it all of the information is very up to date.

Not bad but not for the UK market
This was OK but geared more towards the USA market than for UK. I would probably go for Rough Guide next. Not a bad guide though and helpful, wherever you're from.
