I had been considering a visit to Dubai and bought this guide hoping it would entice me to go. It had the opposite effect. It is structured as a set of itineraries, which might have proved useful if I had wanted to follow them but some involved switching to taxis or hiring a car, which I didn't really want to do. I would have liked to have come up with my own itineraries after reading all about what there is to do in Dubai but this guide left me thinking there wasn't much to see and do in the city, which I find hard to believe. Having said that, the descriptions of the place are clearly by someone who knows the city well and the pull-out map would be handy tool.
