The Dualit Vario toaster combines simplicity and sophistication perfectly. With extra wide 28mm slots to accommodate a Sandwich Cage and ProHeat elements, a patented design which increases toasting efficiency and element longevity, every toaster has a removable crumb tray and an adjustable rear foot. Manually operated the Dualit toaster features switches to control the degree of browning and an ejector system which means that the toast does not pop up but stays warm until the ejector lever is pushed up.

I thought long and hard about spending £100 on a toaster but I bought the green Dualit two slot toaster to go with my new green kitchen and I'm glad I did! The main drawback is it is not very easy to use - I didn't realise the switch was for toasting only one slice. You also can't fit in really thick slices and the timer is noisy. But, I love the 50s retro design and gladly put up with all those faults. It is also very realiable. Now I have to get a 50s retro fridge to match!

looks great, very quick, turns bread into toast.
(only niggle is that i occasionally forget to set it to do 4slices after i've been using it to do 1 or 2, so the slots on the right hand side don't heat up, but the 'on' slot on the left is hot enough to toast half of the slice in the slot next to it that is turned off. so you end up with a slice that is only toasted on one side. very annoying and easily done. a better warning system (lights or something over or in the slots) would help this. All dualits have this function/"issue" though, so you just need to try not to be too retarded when putting your toast on in the morning (often easier said than done though at 6.30 am). very much recommend it though, as looks great and is recognised as being a very good make.

This has to be the best ( and most expensive) toaster I have ever purchased! I bought it because there is a choice of toasting slots, the option to make toasties and a dial timer. It only takes a couple of goes to get your bread at your required toasted setting. If you make home made bread the slots are wide enough to accommodate it plus muffins, crumpets etc. Although there isn't an eject button I just turn it off at the plug if necessary! I love the wide crumb tray, its easy to clean, infact I love everything about my toaster! :-)Dualit 2+2 Toaster Mint Green 42172
