I've had it with this, and with Popcorn, who seems to have undergone a seller name change?! The first whisk which I bought back in October 2010 broke in November 2010 - one of the bearings refused to turn any more - at the end of November after a few uses - bearing in mind that the only thing I had used it for was sponge cake mix and buttercream icing. It took Popcorn FOUR MONTHS to resolve this and to send me a replacement which I finally got at the beginning of April - this after I had spent a fortune on posting it back to them!
When the replacement finally arrived, I used it twice before that one broke! The bearings had come out of synch, so instead of the beaters interlocking smoothly with each other, they jammed against each other.
I don't want it, I just want rid of it, preferably NOT in four months time!! I have already bought a new one by a different well known and more reliable make. The Dualit whisk is also a rather heavy and tires your wrist after a short while - loved the gimmicky idea of storing the cable inside the body and the plug socket for easier storage, but what use all that if the product doesn't deliver what it claims to?! I bought it originally as I wanted something strong and long lasting - pah!!! How wrong was I?!
I sincerely hope that Popcorn can resolve this for me with a full refund, including postage costs! I just want rid of it and I want ALL my monies back. I want a whisk that I can rely on, one that will stand me in good stead for years to come. I am now back to using my mother's ancient moulinex hand held whisk that is very slow but at least it WORKS after over 20 years!!!!!!!!

I am looking for a replacement hand mixer as the Dualit siezed up whilst
mixing royal icing,there was a sudden grinding bang!
An electrician looked at it and said the motor had broken,only been using
it 18mths.Good ,considering some of the reviews.

Great looking product, would look fantastic on the side of any modern kitchen, but don't bother using it for anything other than an ornament.
Mine last about six months before it started playing up, that's about four uses (I don't do a lot of baking!), or in total probably about 25 minutes, it started to slow down, then speed up then required a shake to get it going again.
Don't be thinking that this was used under a lot of pressure, I wasn't using it for really stiff bread dough, this was purely being used on egg whites ...
I finally gave up on this device outside of the one year warranty, so am able to do nothing with it other than bin it.
I checked with a local repair shop and was told that Dualit don't sell parts for them and having googled this product have found many people with the same problem.

DON'T BUY THIS
This mixer lasted 2 months - the motor blew - was replaced after much argument and then lasted 3 months before the gears went - hopeless and dualet were very unhelpfull !!!!
