Though I am very much satified with this product, I am very much disappointed with the way I was chected by during order booking. The price of the product was give as $ 59.95 on website, whereas when I booked, I was charged 69 GBP, which is almost double of the price shown on website.

This is a good, small, inexpensive 10/100 Ethernet switch with port mirroring to allow Ethernet captures of live traffic. You'd need an old Ethernet Hub or a big switch with port mirroring to capture live traffic on an Ethernet. It works great with Wireshark and a laptop since it is USB bus powered.

I use this Tap on my network to capture outbound packets on a Security Onion Intrusion Detection system. The product works as advertised. Neat little mirror port makes for easy sniffing for IDS and network troubleshooting. I will need a few more of these as I have a few segments in my network, and would like to monitor each individually. Easy to carry around to customer sites, in auditing, forensic, and Penetration testing situations. Makes for very fast network troubleshooting without having to reconfigure an enterprise switch.

Use this for setting up and troubleshooting networked equipment. It is compact and light in comparison to regular AC powered hubs, especially when wall sockets (both network and power ports) are limited. Works well for doing network traces for troubleshooting communication problems.
