Product Description

Neil Spencer, The Observer, 16/11/08

With exquisite playing from Eamon Doorley (fiddle and bouzouki) and Ross Martin on guitar. a lovely, intricate piece of Celtic tradition.

Mojo Magazine, January 2009

A cosily intimate affair, the aural equivalent of a quiet night in with a bottle of wine and a roaring fire... And it's adorable. - ****

I bought this CD to hear again the magical voice of Julie Fowlis. My expectations were realized! Here Julie, Muireann, Eamon and Ross have created beautiful powerfully evocative music that trancends language: one does not need to understand Gaelige to enjoy what's on offer here ( although a full translation is thoughtfully given). Every track is a treasure- a rare quality!

If you have yet to experience Julie Fowlis, and have not heard her voice before, this is a fine opportunity to do so! A superb mix of melody and musicianship transport you away to the west coasts of Scotland and Ireland. Taditional and modern at the same time; a great addition to any music collection. If you like this, then don;t forget Julies solo CD's - she really is one of the finest young singers to appear for decades.

JUST WONDERFUL 18 Feb 2010
Format:Audio CD
This was bought for me as a present last summer. Although I played it a few times, usually as background when I was doing something, it was only when I got the chance to listen through headphones that I realised how good it really is. I have no Gaelic ( Scottish or Irish ) and I still love it. The songs are just so musical without the need to understand the lyrics. That said if anything would prompt me to learn Gaelic this would.
