4.0 out of 5 stars The first hit, 3 April 2003
This review is from: Du Hast + Remixes Import Ep (Audio CD)
After three years of waiting, Rammstein finally achieved a UK hit single with Du Hast, taken from the German No.1 album Sehnsucht of 1997. Du Hast is pretty representative of the Sehnsucht album; 'dance metal' (Tanzmetal) is probably the best way to describe its mix of firm, dominating riffs (typical of Rammstein's lead guitarist and co-founder Richard Kruspe-Bernstein) and experimental keyboard-playing from Flake Lorenz. Vocalist Till Lindemann is not on full form here; the song's lyrics lack the subtlety of Rammstein's other songs, and their repetitive nature, though memorable and accessible to non German-speakers, does not show off his voice to its full potential. Still, as a popular hit, Du Hast is as good a Rammstein single release as any. ....

4.0 out of 5 stars Best known, and one of the best..., 29 Dec 2004

(VINE VOICE)    (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Du Hast (Audio CD)
Of all of Rammsteins many singles this is probably the best known. Surprisingly for a Berlin based band that sings entirely in German, Du Hast sold exceptionally well in the states. If you mention the name Rammstein in a pub, aside from a number of blank stares you will usually get 2 or 3 people who will say "Oh, Du Hast..." and nod sagely.

As to the songs merits, it is good. But its far from being Rammsteins best, in fact as singles go it can't hold a candle to Sonne, Engel or DRSG. But it is a classic. Try it, chances are you'll have heard it already. Though if you want a good entry into the Rammstein world, go for the Reise, Reise or Mutter albums which go for little more than this in price...

5.0 out of 5 stars The Clawfinger remix is awesome., 26 Mar 2000

I've got Du Hast on Sensucht, but I bought this CD anyway to get the Hellner and Clawfinger remixes. All the tracks are great. In fact, I think the Clawfinger remix is actually twice as good as the original song. I don't usually go for singles, but if you like Rammstein, this is worth the money.
