Product Description

A gripping and epic occult and archaeology adventure thriller where the past and present weave together in a tale of passion, intrigue, murder and the supernatural.

‘God, have pity. Help us.’
Edith screamed as her head was forced back by the maelstrom that roared around them. She fought to close her eyes, to shut out the snarling face feasting upon Jago’s swollen tongue.
The ceremony was not going well…

1911: Edith Sanguine holds a playful séance that goes terribly wrong.
Present day: Drusilla Blood, a disgraced archaeologist with a disastrous love life, plunges into a raging fire at a pagan festival and escapes the searing flames miraculously unharmed.

Two young women, separated by generations, share a sinister fate; possession by an ancient being, a sadistic and powerful entity bent on destruction and revenge. Can Drusilla Blood end the malignant legacy that Edith set in motion, hindered by those that wish to control its power for their own ends?
An epic action packed race against time that travels through the darkness of Pagan Iron Age sacrifice in the desolate moors of Northern England, the heat of the Great War Egyptian desert, back to the present day and a world oblivious of the horror that threatens to engulf it.

Praise for Drusilla Blood:

‘If Stephen King had a love child with Kate Mosse (writer!) she would be called Drusilla Blood.’ Amazon review
‘Big dollops of humour, sex and horror, like an even darker, X-rated, Wuthering Heights.’ Amazon review
‘Suspense galore and beautifully written, I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of the supernatural’ Amazon review

5.0 out of 5 stars Cracking good read 10 May 2012
By Fiona
Format:Kindle Edition
I thoroughly enjoyed Drusilla Blood. It is a cracking good read with strong feisty heroines. I loved the fact that the book almost becomes a character itself and cleverly links the two plots. The occult scenes are scary and horrific, featuring some fairly unsavoury characters. The action moves along at a good pace, embracing all the qualities of a good thriller set against a doomed romance whilst maintaining a humourous tone throughout. Looking forward to reading the next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars A dark gothic horror thriller 3 Jun 2012
By HattieH
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I'm a big fan of Steven King and love gothic novels so it was a pleasure to find this scary thriller. Two fascinating heroines linked through time with great big dollops of humour, sex and horror, like an even darker, X-rated, Wuthering Heights. I identified with Drue the spirited heroine with all her character flaws. It's well researched like a Dan Brown novel and similar in the way he manages to weave facts into his fiction. If Stephen King had a love child with Kate Mosse she would be called Drusilla Blood.

5.0 out of 5 stars Grips you from start to finish 21 May 2012

Thrills, suspense, action, horror, sex, history... this gripping and engaging debut novel by Miriam Cooke has it all.

Drusilla Blood kept me entertained throughout its breathtaking journey through the occult. In a pacey style we are taken through the lives of two women living in very different times, joined by their desire to free themselves from the grips of a gruesome beast. We are taken on a fantastical adventure in a style that could only be described as cinematic.

I truly couldn't put the book down, reading hurriedly from page to page. Download it now.
