Most Helpful Customer Reviews

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful By Mrs. E. Heenan on 13 May 2010
Format: Hardcover
This book deals with the virtual enslavement of migrant workers in the Emirates. The sad story demonstrates very powerfully the abasement experienced by men and women whose economic position renders them powerless. Importantly, it deals with the restricted thought processes of those whose behaviour is constantly under scrutiny. Their efforts to retain a sense of self seem doomed and it serves as a reminder that ultimately losing one's soul can be the result of selling one's labour.
