Product Description

When a mysterious death occurs at Hartford’s venerable
Wadsworth Atheneum, Kate knows the holidays are really
going to be murder this year.
Christmas has never been Kate’s favorite time of year, but this holiday season is enough to make her crazy. MACK Realty is on hiatus due to the down economy. Armando might not make it home by December 24th. Kate is mourning the loss of her adored cat Simon. Daughter Emma has persuaded Kate to stage a Norman Rockwell-type Christmas Eve for her loathsome new beau. And to top off the merriment, her ex-husband has coaxed her to host an at-home wedding for their nephew. Ho ho ho.
To get her mind off her troubles, Kate helps out with a charity fundraiser to be held during the Wadsworth Atheneum’s famous Festival of Trees & Traditions. It’s an evening that’s full of surprises, none of them good.
Kate’s positively drowning in Christmas. Can pals Margo and Strutter come to her rescue before she goes down for the third time?

This was a light-hearted read ideal to relax with in the busy pre-Christmas period. Nothing too surprising but I'd read another Kate Lawrence adventure.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lady detective with a life! 20 Dec 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is the first Kate Lawrence mystery I have read, and I enjoyed it enough to want to read the others in the series.

The plot did not take a lot of working out, but Kate and her friends and family are an attractive bunch and fun to hang around with.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing mystery, but a heart-warming story 28 Jan 2012
By AcerAcer - Published on Amazon.com

Having read all the other Kate Lawrence mysteries, I found this one to be rather a let-down. The central mystery was weak. And there was just way too much "local color" in it, which I assume was supposed to camouflage the lack of meat in the story, which is a rather short book even with all the padding. I was very disappointed in the mystery, but the stories involving the ongoing characters kept me going. However, I'm thinking if you haven't ever read a Kate Lawrence mystery before, this is NOT the one to start with.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Enjoyable Read 12 April 2011
By Stacy - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I've enjoyed the other books in the Kate Lawrence series and Drowning in Christmas was a welcome addition. Not only is this the perfect book to read around the holidays, it will also put some cheer into your day in whatever month you choose to read it. It is a light read with well-drawn characters, an intriguing mystery, a touch of romance and a well-depicted New England setting. A fun and festive read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Drowing in Christmas 13 Mar 2011
By J P - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Normally I do not read murder mysteries as most of them are bloody, overboard gory. I stumbled on this one, and to my own surprise I really liked it. It was easy to read, entertaining and above all charming. Keep in mind I am a guy so not much into the romatic stuff.
