5.0 out of 5 stars Thumpingly good 6 Oct 2009
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Basically, does what it says on the tin. A Trouble Funk greatest hits package can really do no wrong. Washington go-go at it's finest; raw, funky, percussive, full-on party music for a full-on party. Play very, very loud. Thumpingly good!

5.0 out of 5 stars Where's some of them backstabbers? 13 Feb 2003
By Andre M. - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Oh MAN! If you were a teenager on the east coast with an ear to Black music in the early 80s, you KNOW about this! Chcuk Brown and the Soul Searchers introduced the world to Washington DC's homebrewed "Go-go" music a few years earlier, but TROUBLE FUNK took it to the next level. Aside from the ballad "Don't Try To Use Me" (which is not bad), this is a CD you CAN'T SIT DOWN and listen to! You GOTS TO move when you hear Trouble Funk do their thing! Unfortuantely, since the R&B of the early 80s was woefully underpromoted outside of England and Black America, this is not as well known as it should be. But give it a listen and you won't sit still!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the Original 12 May 2009

This is NOT the original album...no "Pump Me Up", no "Don't Try To Use Me"...? If you're hoping to go back down memory lane, this is not the album that does it. Me thinks it shoulda been given a different title. An oversight on the part of the label...right?

5.0 out of 5 stars The Funk is Back 11 Mar 2013

Good old school funk at its best. This CD takes me back to golden days when I use to hear these guys play in local parks before they were known.
