Drontal is very effective but do not wrestle with trying to get it down your cats throat the easy way to disguise tablets is to buy some beef or chicken paste, Princess or Shiphams and wrap the tablet in the paste. It works and is so much less stressful for you and your cat. Simple solution and your cat will love the taste. I always have a supply of these little pots incase my cat needs medication.Drontal Cat Worming Tablet (UK)

Treated my one year old female with this, two hours later she expelled a 9 inch long Tapeworm, cannot recommend Drontal enough and as every vet i've asked recommends them they must be good.

I failed the first time I gave this to my cat. I crushed it up and tried to disguise it with some food he loved.
One taste and he spat it out and that was that. It obviously had an awfully strong taste!
Whilst crushing the tablet I noticed it had some sort of clear film over it. So the second time I decided not to damage the tablet as the coating was perhaps to prevent the tablet being tasted and should help it slip down unnoticed.
Second attempt: I took some tinned tuna, just a small amount and covered the tablet with mayonnaise for lubrication.
I inserted this into the small peice of tuna and gave it to the cat. One gulp and job done! Don't give too much tuna at a time that way at least you can have a second or third try. Hope this is of some help.

not easy to get down a cat.
The drontal cat wormer has worked my cat hasn't got worms but it was extremely difficult to get her to take it (as i know is the case with most cats). Read more

Not enough dose!
The Drontal dose in this order was not enough to treat the weight of my cat Florence. Only one tablet enclosed. I have therefore had to buy more worming tablets.

Save on Vets prices
Like the flea treatment its easy to do yourself and saves a packet doing it yourself even with postage its cheaper than pet shop and a lot cheaper than vet for same product.

Does the job with no fuss.
Not being a trained vet,I would find it impossible to get my cat to swallow a pill so this is ideal as it can be crushed and mixed into his food.Recommended.
