This dvd was amazingly easy to use and understand and helped me obtain a pass of 90% (67% is required to pass) Honestly rate this dvd to anyone taking a hazard perception test in any vehicle (all are covered on this dvd)

After trying and using the older version and failing we updated to this video dvd and my son passed the test as this explains it much better and tells you what the hazards are and where you should have clicked so making this a good learning dvd for the theroy test as the hazard part is very hard if you dont know what you are doing so worth the money

2.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality video 7 Jan 2013

This DVD is unfortunately let down by some very low resolution video. I found myself being given low (or even zero) scores for somehow not realising that two or three black pixels would turn in to a tractor trimming the hedge. On a couple of occasions even when I had correctly identified the hazard I was given a score of zero which is a hugely demoralising result - it makes me worry about the actual test.
Bear in mind that in the test you're not supposed to click repeatedly otherwise you could be given zero. So in one clip early on I notice a cyclist and a roadworks sign - so I click. Spotted! Keeping my eye on him... At the end of the clip I get zero because... I didn't spot the cyclist?! What that taught me (which is maybe how you're supposed to pass) is that even when you've identified a potential hazard, you keep clicking to say "I still see it!"
Anyway that's probably more of a problem with the idea of the test which isn't particularly realistic, especially as the camera is fixed (even when at junctions and roundabouts) and on occasions I can't help feeling whoever is driving the car probably shouldn't have a license of their own!

But issues with the test aside (and if you look at the DSA's Youtube page you'll see they're introducing animations this year, which is even worse - if you're planning on taking your theory test after the summer of 2013, check what's happening as this DVD may be out of date by then) the fundamental flaw with this DVD is the poor quality video.

However, having said all that I would still recommend it if only to get practice with the test rubric, and to develop a strategy for taking it (i.e. click at every corner, don't assume your first click for a hazard was the right one and keep clicking - but not repeatedly!

2.0 out of 5 stars Bad video quality, but some good points 24 April 2014
Verified Purchase
This video does teach you about hazard perception, however the resolution of the video would mean that if you are a driver and had this bad quality eyesight (hint: try and read some registration plates) you would not be legal to drive.

This product is out of date and badly needs to be updated to higher quality video which is now prevalent.

The good points are the instruction from the police officer as well as showing where hazards are and to assist in the actual test - which I hope they have at least upgraded to some HD Go Pro or similar.

It says something when russian dash cam videos are are 5x the quality of your product, it needs updating

Seemingly not the most "up-to-date" version - or so my son told me. however, he
passed his test first time - so obviously did the job

I choose this rate because it's quite good and I got to learn a lot. However this DVD didn't work on my computer which I dislike.
