Product Description

When you're driving your car there are times when a single finger gesture can perfectly express your sentiments to a fellow vehicle operator. Although this is a relatively efficient form of non-verbal communication, we would like to present a device that brings some technology to the table. The Driving LED Emoticon is a battery powered, wirelessly controlled message sign that can be attached to the rear window of your car via the included suction cup. A remote control unit is kept in the front of the car (fixed to front window, dash, or laid in a storage compartment) to activate the messages by pressing one of its buttons. It can display any one of five different messages - "smiling face", "sad face", "Thanks", "Back Off" and "Idiot". We will, of course, leave it up to you to decide which of these messages suits your particular situation - but we do think it's nice to have a device that allows you to more clearly express yourself to other drivers.

This is the second Drivemocion car messaging sign I have bought and both had to be returned as neither worked (one from a different site). Even had my Dad moving it about to see if it was motion sensitive! Turns out no. Thought it was a great idea for my brothers birthday as he loves his car but had to give up and just give him money. Ah well better luck next time!

I got this for my wife as a gag gift because she is always complaining that she wants to tell other drivers what she things of their driving. I was hoping for something that was a little more user friendly, but it was cute to play with for a while. The biggest problem was the install. The device and remote had to line-up pretty well in the car, and that wasn't too easy. It would also be better if you didn't have to "learn"/remember the signs with multiple button pushes. Honestly, I found that it could be a big distraction for the driver if they were trying to operate it.

I'll probably use this at the house at Halloween to get a laugh out of the kids coming to the door. :)

Suction cup failure, maker in denial 16 Dec 2011
By åmâzŏniān - Published on Amazon.com
Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
This lil' gadget is fun and can be beneficial, I had been longing for something like this. However, the deal breaker is the poorly-designed "pseudo-cup". No matter how clean your window pane is, no matter how you don't let your finger oil contaminate the cup and window surfaces, no matter how diligently you follow their mounting instructions, this cup WILL fail and your device WILL fall (within days at the most). MAY BE this is worse in cold climate region of where I am, I ain't sure, but I know it as a fact that this suction cup is crap. Don't trust me? Just ask ThinkGeek who is a reseller of this. Their solution is to suggest users to use heavy duty double-sided tape all over the cup inner surface, which I tried but due to the soft plastic in the suction cup, even that failed. There's no way that you can keep this device up for long especially when the car is mobile. Last but not least, the maker is in denial and from what I observed, they STILL refuse to redesign the suction cup. Enough said.

Don't bother - poor design 3 Jan 2012

The suction cup that comes with this is not nearly strong enough to hold the device to the rear window, so it keeps falling down. We had to return it.
