Had this camera for about a month now and have been using it non stop especially on mountain bike trails. I spent a lot of time researching this product and the Go Pro + Contour HD before going for the Drift and I have not been disappointed. The mounts are rock solid when tightened properly and the lens gives a really nice wide view, close to the angle of the human eye. 1080p at 30 frames per sec is seriously good, I've had experience with real HD camcorders and the Drift really shines, it doesnt match them but comes very very EXTREMELY close. 60fps 720p is very smooth and can be edited to slow down the video to give slow motion.
Once I had it attached to my head and it slipped and fell to the ground while I was biking at speed, camera got run over by my own bike but nothing happened. So it's a pretty tough camera.
Like another user said the lens is vunerable and I do worry about it shattering/scratching so thats a CON.
Yesterday the camera got caught in some heavy rain for about 1h 10 mins, it was bucketing, I steeled myself for a messed up camera when I got home but it was fine after drying, the back end where the SD card + battery is kept was bone dry too. I wouldnt take it for a dip in the pool however. Oh and the waterproof case is pretty dear at £30 but may be worth using to protect the lense and screen, I know I will eventually get it for watersports.
It has lots of mounting options apart from a tripod but I picked one of those up for 50p at the local Poundland. The screen is pretty impressive in terms of resolution, and the cameras processor is powerful enough to fast forward/rewind recorded footage. The remote works well, however because im a battery saving freak I tend to turn my cam on, record, then turn it back off so I have no battery life problems (recorded a camping trip with friends for 4 days!). One huge CON is that the camera from Amazon does not come with a SD card and I only had a 1GB card from another digi cam for a while so was really frustrationg when I could only record 10 mins at 1080p.. Any other questions feel free to ask!
