Quite simply as previously stated, if you like the movie then you'll like the soundtrack. The soundtrack is supposed to be the music that was in the movie - something that the other "reviewer" here failed to comprehend.
Is it everyone's cup of tea, no of course not. It's certainly not my favorite genre of music and not even one of my favorite soundtracks - but I like the movie enough to own this cd (bought it years ago) and do have it among the 8,000+ items currently in my iPod. Does it fit the movie - it's arguable. This movie did come out in the early 80's and it fits the decade. It's synthesized, but watching the movie from day one it always fit to me - I'm sure had another composer came along and did something else, it would also fit well.
Unless you own the movie, whether you're a Jarre fan or not, you should sample the titles here (one or two would do to get a general idea of what's on this soundtrack since many sound a bit similar) on Youtube or what have you.
If you are a fan of this movie like I am, then it's worth picking this up if you like movie scores.
I would normally give this 3-4 stars - because it IS exactly what it's advertised to be: the Dreamscape movie soundtrack.
I'm giving it 5 stars since the only 1 reviewer on here gave it an unfair review and it should be balanced.
Again, if you're a Jarre fan and used to his work, you should sample this cd before thinking of purchasing it since it probably is not for everyone and a little different than what you're probably used to. If you like the score of the movie, then you'd certainly like this cd.
