Product Description

Rock Sound 9/10 June 2004

this band raises the bar on what rock music with powerful pop sensibilities is all about…Superb

Metal Hammer

Its hooky, catchy and packed to the brim with sunshiny pop melodies, but there's nothing disposable about Deckard. 7/10

5.0 out of 5 stars Their most solid release yet, 13 May 2004
By A Customer
Having followed Baby Chaos or Deckard as they are now known since the early 1990s, it would seem this is their finest output to date. Less spikey riffs like Baby Chaos used to write, less polished pop like Deckard's first album "Stereodreamscene" and more solid songwriting with new musical influences and a fine production. This album actually improves over repeated listens, with the listener discovering new elements each listen. The longevity element means I will come back to this album again and again for a long time to come. The most immediate tracks being the sombre openers "To your soul", "We're aching" and the explosive end track "I dream of dynamite". But don't worry the band have not forgotten how to rock out. They do this on virtually every track here and the riffs here are excellent. After a few listens the album really comes into it's own as a classic, so bear with it. Hopefully this album will provide the band with the recognition they deserve. They are the kind of band that deserves to get on the radio a lot more as it's catchy yet original, poppy yet not bland. This pop rock album should go down well with fans of Placebo, Ash, Muse, Feeder, The Wildhearts and probably has a bit of crossover appeal to some indy / alternative music fans as well. Make Deckard the band you discover this year and then check out their back catalogue. They've been obscure for way too long!
