Caring for your blanket

First of all I love this elecetric blanket, can't imagine how i lived without it.
Our flat is always freezing and it was a nightmare to sleep but luckily these times are over.
The blanket is ok to set up but takes some time with the straps, but once it's done you wont need to bother with it again.
It does heat up very quickly (10min as instructed) and it's lovely hot once you go to sleep. It's great that you can leave it on over night, although i would prefer the setting to be a bit higher sometimes but this might be only because our flat is so cold.

This is good in terms of heating up quickly and being able to control the temp during the night. I like the control unit as it is easy to see. However, the only thing I think I should mention is that it does not cover enough of the bed. I am 5ft 7in which is not unusually tall but my feet do not get the warmth unless I curl up onto my side. The reason I wanted a blanket was because my back is sore and I need to sleep straight - when I do this I am warm from the shoulders and half way down the calf of my leg. In a nutshell - it is not long enough unless you are a child or shorter in height than me.

Dreamland Eletric Underblanket 6863.
I have just purchased this blanket and have noticed a "synthetic" smell when the blanket is switched on. No matter how long the blanket is on the smell is still there. The smell is sickly which makes it unpleasant when you are in bed. Does anyone know if the smell fades.

A silly, unresolvable problem
Our old Dreamland blanket works perfectly in Brazil with a 60 Hz cycle electricity supply; the new ones will only function on 50 Hz - as in the UK etc. Read more
