  • The second and third trimester can prove to be an exciting but tiring time for expectant mothers. Along with the excitement of the forthcoming arrival comes the nervousness about the birth and the physical difficulty in sleeping comfortably.
  • The unique DreamGenii support pillow is designed to aid restful and supportive sleep from the second trimester onwards. Most support pillows are bulky, making it difficult to move around and change position during the night and they take up a lot of room in the bed, making it difficult for your partner to sleep.
  • Unlike other pillows, the soft and comfortable DreamGenii pillow's unique shape allows you discreet support for your tummy, back and knees without taking up most of the bed, allowing you and your partner comfortable rest.
  • DreamGenii is designed to encourage you to sleep on your left side, in the recovery position, which, if used regularly from the second trimester, can encourage Baby to get into the optimum position for birth. However, DreamGenii does not restrict your movements during the night and is just as comfortable while lying on your right hand side.
  • Because the DreamGenii support pillow has a back support, it discourages you from rolling on to your back during the night which can restrict blood-flow to mother and Baby. The leg support is designed to take the pressure off your back and tummy by gently elevating your leg whilst you are asleep.
  • The only dual purpose maternity pillow on the market for sleeping and feeding
  • Approved by midwives
  • Practical Parenting Best Buy and Pregnancy Product of the year 2007/08
  • Aids restful sleep
  • Supports bump, back and knees at the same time
  • Encourages maximum blood flow to mother and baby whilst asleep
  • Encourages baby to adopt optimum position for birth
  • Prevents you from rolling onto your back whilst you are asleep
  • Doubles as a feeding support pillow with an integral back support

Product Description

Product Description

The Unique DreamGenii support pillow is designed to aid restful sleep during those uncomfortable stages of pregnancy when getting comfortable is a difficult task.

Unlike other pillows, DreamGenii offers gentle support for your tummy, back and knees without taking up most of the bed, allowing you and your partner to get a good nights rest.

Its unique shape encourages you to sleep on your left side, in the recovery position, which, if used regularly from the second trimester, can encourage baby into the optimum position for birth. The gentle back support discourages rolling onto your back during the night, which can restrict blood flow to both mother and baby, the leg support is designed to take the pressure off your tummy and back by gently lifting your leg whilst you sleep.

Once baby has arrived, DreamGenii can be used as a feeding support pillow. The leg support fits comfortably into the small of your back, whilst the back and tummy supports fold over to form a cradle shaped support for your new baby. Unlike other feeding pillows, the DreamGenii gives essential back support and allows for a comfortable position without putting any strain on any post birth aches and pains.

The DreamGenii pillow was born out of the need of pregnant mum Vanessa blake to get a good nights sleep when she was pregnant with her first child Lucas. I found it difficult to get comfortable as my pregnancy progressed and I was also conscious of the optimal positioning for the health and well being of my baby. I tried every pregnancy pillow on the market and none of them actually worked the V Pillow was the wrong shape and didnât fit comfortably under my bump, the bolster pillow was useless and took up the whole bed and the wedge pillow was really uncomfortable and pushed my bump into a really unnatural position. All of them woke me up in the night when I wanted to move as I had to roll over with them to reposition myself and they usually ended up strewn on the floor by morning! I wanted to design something for myself that ensured that I was comfortable whilst taking into account the healthiest positioning for my baby and me. I also wanted to be able to use my pillow post birth as a feeding support (as many of my friends had shared their tales of back strain after using traditional pillows with no back support).

And so DreamGenii was born.

Approved by midwives, invented, designed and manufactured in Oxfordshire, England.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great to sleep on 19 Feb 2013

Taking the pressure off the belly works a charm. Admittedly you can also create a similar effect by using spare pillows but then you don't the back support which also helps. It means the pillow doesn't move when you sleep. Another cheaper alternative are the V shaped pillows. But if you afford this then it is the better solution.

In case you don't know it comes with a white pillow case so the other pillow cases DreamGennii also sell (e.g. Deamgenii Support & Feeding Pillow Cover - Sesame Flowers) are optional extras if you want a spare or prefer a more fancy colour. If you are happy with white then there is no need to purchase them..

5.0 out of 5 stars Best thing I have bought so far! 7 May 2008

This pillow has given me the best night's sleep since I became pregnant. At first I thought it was a bit expensive but well worth the money - would recomend it to all pregnant women.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pretty useless 17 Jun 2011

This pillow does not provide enough back or belly support, and the leg support pillow is too narrow to offer much support, either. I feel I wasted my money.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's Ok but stitching is poor 16 July 2009
I bought this as a present for my wife and she found it very useful during her pregnancy. The main drawback is that the stitching is not very good and the pillow seam has come apart. It may be that the pillow case would offer additional protection but considering the price I expected more.

3.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable, but could be a lot better.. 2 Feb 2009
I am writing this review on behalf of my wife and my own observations of it. I originally read about this pillow in a newspaper article and after seeing my wife struggling five months into pregnancy to gain any comfort for a good night's sleep, decided to purchase one for her. Upon arrival, i was quite surprised to see how small and feeble looking it was. My wife was not convinced at first, but after a few days she warmed to it, and said it gave her good support. The problem is though, is that it is feeble. After a few weeks use, the lining had started to slightly tear which for me was incredible seeing as it was virtually new. It also doubles up into a breastfeeding support pillow but my wife hasn't used that yet as she has 3 weeks to go.
All in all comfortable but could be a lot better..

3.0 out of 5 stars OK but some inconveniences 13 Aug 2010
Got this pillow a few days ago, was dying for a comfortable nights sleep where I don't wake up with a sore back...this hasn't really helped to be honest! I thought it would be great as it would keep my legs aligned whilst I laid on my side, and would support my back as well...unfortunately, the section which goes between your legs is too thin to keep them, and therefore your spine, straight, once I put the weight of my upper leg on the pillow, my legs are only held a tiny bit apart. As for the back support, the middle section which you lie on is too wide, for me at least, so if I have my legs around the long side, my back isn't close enough to the short side to be supported.
My main niggle though is that as only one side is long enough for your legs, you have to physically get up, turn the pillow over, and then get back into bed just in order to turn to face the other way! Leads to a pretty disrupted nights sleep! Not the easiest to get up out of to go for a wee either!
However, it is incredibly comfy to prop behind yourself when you are just sitting eg reading in bed/ etc, and I do think it will probably make a good breastfeeding pillow, although I'm not sure whether I would've bothered getting a pillow specifically for breastfeeding and certainly not one this big.
All in all, it's ok, mine seems well made enough and it's exactly what it appears to be in the picture, just hasn't really worked for me, and would be much better if it had 2 long sides so you could turn over without having to turn the pillow too.
To be honest, a nice plump pillow would probably work just as well if not better, and it would certainly be cheaper.

1.0 out of 5 stars brill husband barrier-dreadful support pillow!!! 21 Aug 2010
By becca h
I bought the dreamgenii when I was 20 weeks pregnant and I was finding that I could only get comfortable at night with a pillow between my knees.Trouble was the pillow wouldn't stay in place so I thought the dreamgenii would be a good option for me,also the idea of helping the baby into the optimal position for birth was also appealing.
I have persevered with it for about 6 weeks but I've so far found it fairly useless. The main problem is the leg support I'd neither long or wide enough and it's a strange angle to boot-at this point I should mention that I'm only 5ft tall and of average build so if a shorty like me finds the leg support not long enough I would imagine it would be totally rubbish for taller ladies.
My other complaint is with the flat bit you lie on in between the bump and back support(neither of which is actually that supportive)- this part seems to develop ridges/twists that irritate your side as you lie, which seem to return despite best efforts to flatten it out before bed.
The best thing about this pillow is it's an effective barrier to the other half, lol, but that's about all-I'm now giving up with it and going back to my ordinary pillow and put up with it's wandering.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not for tall/large people? 10 Sep 2008
By momto2
After much debate during my second trimester on whether it would be worth the money for this pillow... another sleepless night early into my third trimester saw me online at 7am buying it! When I opened the package I was surprised to see so little pillow! I imagined it would be bigger. I am thinking this pillow was designed for a more petite person than myself (I am 5'10" and currently 88 kilos!) I roll easily over the back "support" and end up sleeping on my back again. The bit that goes between the legs is so meager and thin, I prefer to use a normal pillow. I give it 2 stars because the bit that tucks under the bump is fine! I am going to pass this on to my newly pregnant, petite 5'2" friend and see if it works for her... It was not worth the money for me :(
