What a talented young girl!

I've never really been a big fan of this type of music, but after watching Jackie sing on Britains Got Talent i was completely blown away! She sings with such emotion and grace, it's hard to believe that such a mature and beautiful voice can come from someone so young.
I now find opera/classical music much more enjoyable than i thought i ever would :)

I love every song on this album and look forward to her next one :D :D

Do you have your favourite CDs? And one or two favourite tunes there? I do. So, I found this CD a rare luxury as it is difficult to me to pick just one or two tunes.
Not only Jackie's voice is amazing but also her being 'glued' to music or as she says - being 'possessed by music'. I can hear it listening to this CD over and over again.
This CD produced by David Foster who in my opinion is also 'possessed by music' :) proves to me one more time that music can be a common space where we all can meet each other. And age, sex, nationality, styles of music and time it has been created don't matter any more.

I recommend "Dream with me" by Jackie Evancho not only to classical music fans or crossover ones. I dare recommend it to everyone who dream of common space where we can all meet for few minutes.

There is 1 word that could sum up this album (albeit a simple 1) WOW!!! And that was after a period of being speachless. I've loved Jackie ever since i saw her performance on America's Got Talent last year, her rendition of O Mio Babbino Caro just blew me away. This girl truely does have the voice of an angel. I was lucky enough to have heard her very first cd Prelude To A Dream and was dissapointed when her father decided to withdraw it stating:
"Because the cd was released about a year and a half ago, her current voice no longer sounds like it did then (due to vocal maturity), we decided to withdraw Prelude To A Dream and will be concentrating on new material as part of her progress".
And to some extent i can see why, her voice has matured so much on this album compared to Prelude To A Dream (maybe even O Holy Night), but i think it's a shame that so many people have missed out on owning that beautiful cd. You maybe lucky to find a rare copy being sold on ebay, but bare in mind it's become such a colectors item that it has recieved final winning bids of over $1,500.
Anyway, unlike many classical crossover singers i've listened to in the past, this cd has been produced and arranged beautifuly, owing to having the wonderful David Foster at the helm.
I encourage everyone to listen to this album, it is so beautiful and such a pleasure to listen to, you will not be dissapointed. And yes, you really are listening to the voice of an 11 year old girl, the voice of an angel.
And if her next album is even half what this album is, then i know it will still be spectacular :-D

I am almost at a loss for words. Jackie Evancho has an amazing vocal range that is both pure and rich. Her annunciation is crisp and clear - unlike some older singers, who tend to blend their words together. The fact that she is so young adds celestial grace to this performance. The collaborations with Susan Boyle and Barbra Streisand work very well indeed, giving us an indication of how this little star is perceived by the arts community. I don't think anyone should be disappointed with this cd - it is a polished collection of songs and a superb achievement. If I had to sum it up in one word I would say it was 'inspiring'. Who doesn't need a little inspiration now and then?

I don't usually give reviews but I HAD to when I heard this album. I watched her (like so many others) on Britain's Got Talent and my jaw dropped and my mouth remained open the entire time she was singing. She barely looks as if she's putting any effort in, yet such power comes from within such a tiny frame. She literally will take your breath away. BUY THIS ALBUM. She is truly an angel!

On Saturday night millions of UK TV viewers watched in stunned amazement as an American soprano sang Puccini's Nessun Dorma with such beauty and authority that she could rightfully lay claim to this 80 year old aria as hers.
Not that she would, because, while this singer has a voice which forces you to revise your previous ideas about music, she is a polite, unassuming person who is just grateful to have been given a special gift.

Since she started singing, incredibly just over three years ago, she has worked hard to master and hone this gift to a level as close to perfection as I've ever heard from any singer.
Also she is only 11, but Jackie Evancho can't be called a 'child singer'. No child has ever sounded like her. She just happens to be a child with a voice which leaves listeners grasping for superlatives to describe the emotional effect it has on them.

So, apart from the superb Nessun Dorma, is her new album any good? What else but a resounding Yes.
Her rich, velvet tones and soaring high notes on Dream With Me (released in the UK just two days after her BGT performance) stirred the heart even via the extensive, mostly lower-fi previews but her voice via the CD over high quality headphones is a pure delight.
The David Foster production is mostly big but tasteful and he avoids the over-sweet treatment you might expect from an old song like the opener, When You Wish Upon a Star.

Luckily, Jackie is too young to be sentimental but she has a rare and peculiar power with old songs.
This is where her age does affect her approach. She comes fresh to old song lyrics as only a child without preconceptions could. She sings them straight from the heart with belief and transparency and you suddenly hear them in a new way.
