This is a great behind the scenes look at Dream Theatre touring in Japan - a country which has supported them and helped them break onto the arena circuit. It is a compilation of footage from their live concert, their strolls around tokyo and recording Images and words at beartracks studios (USA). There is even a shot of a Excited Mr Portnoy walking bearfoot across Abbey Road in the style of the Beatles. The footage of the Gig in Tokyo sees Dream Theater (featuring original Keys player Kevin Moore) playing songs taken from 'When Dream and Day Unite' and 'Images and words' to an excellent standard. Tracks include Under a Glass Moon, Wait for sleep, Surrounded,YTSE Jam, Fortune in Lies, Pull me under and Take the Time. (the latter two's videos are also played in full). Also featured is a rendition of 'To live For Ever' (LaBries audition piece). For those who follow Mike Portnoy or John Petrucci there are excellent solos from both of the Virtuosos. There is interesting commentary on the recording process and success of the singles released, by Mike and James and some very amusing moments while shopping in tokyo. For the casual DT fan this is a great vid and a great gig - worth adding to the video collection. For the DT Anorak (like myself) alongside '5 years in a livetime' this completes a comprehensive guide to the story of DT and the people behind the name.
