Book Description

One girl’s struggle to find her true home.

Product Description

It was meant to be like coming home... All her life, Safi’s parents have dreamed of returning to Grandpa’s native village in Crimea. But exchanging their sunny Uzbekistan house for a squalid camp is more like a nightmare. Will the return to a country where no one welcomes them tear Safi’s family apart, or can this strange land ever become home? A compelling story about the Crimean Tatars’ struggle to reclaim the land from which they were exiled in the Second World War.

Format:Paperback
Beyond the oriental fragrance given by the scenery and the characters, beyond the drama of the characters that makes reading of this novel attractive and exciting, I found this book was written under the paradigm of responsibility.
British Lily Hyde feels responsible for the fate of Crimean Tatar people which is today on the brink of extinction. She rejects the simple solution, she refuses to throw the entire responsibility on the shoulders of a dictator, she believes that the time has come to recognize the mistakes we committed in the twentieth century, the time has come to condemn the alliance with the evil to defeat another evil in order to prevent repetition of such horrors in the future.
Through this novel we understand that all humanity is responsible for the maintenance of the intermediate colors in the rainbow, we understand that main colors are not enough, they can not build a true rainbow.
