An offshoot of popular website 43things.com this chunky little book helps you to create a life list. "What's a life list?", I hear you cry! Well, it's a collection of all the things you'd like to get done or achieve, the things that would make your life a little bit easier, or your wildest dreams.

The idea is to get it down, no matter what it is. So you'll find everything from clean out the garage to win an Oscar. And the main principle of writing them down, or putting them on the website, is that if you put it out there, you're more likely to do it.

The book explains the idea behind the website and is essentially 43 chapters arranged around themes containing loads of ideas taken from users' lists from the website, with some other helpful information thrown in.

Ploughing through 43 lists of random ideas might seem a bit strange but it's surprisingly inspiring and will get you thinking about what you'd really like to do.

This is an average self help book that basically contains a lot of lists that the 43things.com web site users have submitted. The summaries at the start of each section are worth reading but I did not find all the lists very digestible and some of them are downright bizarre ! An amusing little book to read in a day but there are many more self help books which are better purchases.

I can understand how some people may resent the fact that a lot of other people's thoughts ideas and phases have been lifted from the web site and turned into a book. However, the book should be judged as collective wisdom well organised and edited and put in a handy sized reference book. It is sometimes difficult for people to find original ways of looking at their situation and how they can change it. This book organises the ideas and shows how other people have worded their resolution. The reader may like the wording just the way it is (most of us buy greetings cards with other people's sentiments in them) or an idea or rephrasing can spring from the book. A useful and quick reference tool for creating goals and objectives. It provides instant brainstorming or kickstarting . Just add your imagination.
