5.0 out of 5 stars Great reading, 11 Sep 2007

Not too much I can about the plot than the excellent previous reviewers. I read this an adult looking for books to share with my pupils and this is great. Covers racism, stereotypes, football, teenage love, friends and dreams - perfect! Simple language, not too much on a page and highly relevant for today's children to read.

3.0 out of 5 stars dream on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, 8 Dec 2004
By A Customer
'DREAM ON' has a very realistic plot.
What happened was that Baljit and his friends, Dave and Mo , were really into football and theircoach said to them when they were training that they were invited to go to these trails where top coaches would be a assesing them.
What made it realistic was that it was set in liverpool and how they spoke made it sound as if it was realy happening.
The characters were very believable beacause it seemed as if they were real people and could really imagine what they look like through-out the story.
The language in the book was very asay to understand.
The issues in the book was that they had to cope with the preasuures from parents and friends and falling out with friends.
my over all opinion of the book was very exciting and never got boring and was very moving.
I would recomend this book to boys and girls.

3.0 out of 5 stars A good book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, 8 Dec 2004
By Ben clark (Scotland Edinburgh) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dream on (Paperback)
Dream on is a great story because it is lively and has an extremly realistic plot. the story is about an asian boy about 12/13 years and pretends he is going on a school trip to london but is actualy going to football trials for liverpool football club. his dad works in a fish and chips store and his mom helps. his best mates help him to make a letter to make the trip more realistic. the boy baljit stays over at his mates house and the next day they go together. then they arrive and baljit is waiting to go on then his best mate gets hurt. he has to go on to replace his mate baljit scores twice, in that game. after his coach says well played all of you.then his coach says ill let you know if you are slected or not. then a few days later he goes to training he was told to come over and there were two men waiting for him then they say well done you have been selected for liverpool fc and Arsnal fc. he goes home and his mom and dad were sitting waiting for him. looking dissapointed then he sees a girl called hannah who is from school. she is fit. he asks her out she says yes he is so happy his parent are ok about that he thaught they were not because he was asian and she was brittish his parents were happy for him bacause they braught him up there so they cant do anything abouy that at all.

this book his highly reccomended to those who are teenagers and it will apeal to them because it is just like me and i am a tipical teen.
